The annual bonus is a non-guaranteed part of the overall compensation package. We are looking for a finance professional with a strong accounting background and a consulting mindset , who enjoys working closely with clients and actively driving finance topics forward. This role goes beyond traditional accounting tasks – you will be involved in operational finance processes, coordination, and communication with German-speaking clients. In this position, you will support clients in their day-to-day finance operations and gradually become a trusted partner, helping them navigate challenges rather than acting as a transactional executor. Responsibilities In this role, you will support and coordinate operational finance and accounting processes across various projects, with a strong focus on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Procure-to-Pay activities. Collaborate on international projects and work closely with external (primarily German-speaking) clients Record, review, and reconcile financial transactions within agreed timelines, including AP, AR, bank transactions, payroll-related items, and GL entries Work with accounting data ( e.g. open items, invoices, payments) with a focus on follow-ups, clarifications, and issue resolution rather than purely transactional posting Support and coordinate end-to-end finance processes, including Procure-to-Pay, cash application, and treasury-related activities Actively communicate with clients and internal stakeholders in German (emails, calls, meetings) and participate in regular status discussions Drive resolution of open items, including chasing approvals and coordinating across finance and business teams Support month-end closing activities and contribute to financial reporting in cooperation with financial analysts Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant standards Perform basic financial analysis to identify discrepancies, trends, and areas for improvement Ensure compliance with accounting standards and applicable legislation, adapting processes where needed Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and enhance efficiency and transparency Share knowledge within the team and support junior colleagues (depending on seniority) What you need to succeed 4+ years of experience in accounting or finance operations Fluency in German (C1 level) is essential, both written and spoken, for daily communication with German-speaking clients Good command of English for internal communication Experience in accounting or finance operations Solid understanding of accounting processes such as AP, AR, GL, Procure -to-Pay, or treasury is a strong advantage Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately with financial data Experience with accounting systems ( e.g. SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced MS Excel skills Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines Proactive and “can-do” attitude, with the ability to take ownership and drive topics independently Strong communication skills and confidence in client interaction, including the ability to follow up, push topics forward, and resolve open items Client-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering quality and building trusted relationships Experience in consulting, SSC, or a shared service environment is a plus Knowledge of accounting or tax regulations is an advantage What we offer Work on international projects for German-speaking clients A role with strong client-facing exposure and space for professional growth Junior–senior team setup with learning and knowledge sharing Supportive PwC environment with clear development opportunities Modern tools and structured finance processes A wide range of benefits supporting wellbeing, learning, and work-life balance Benefits you can enjoy while working at PwC: Financial Rewards: Benefit from regular salary reviews, performance bonuses and other special bonuses.
