We are an established CPA firm in Yarmouth serving nonprofit organizations, businesses, and individuals throughout Maine. While public accounting continues to change, we remain focused on practical client service, strong relationships, and continually improving how we work and support our clients. The Accounting & Advisory Associate offers exposure to multiple areas of public accounting, including tax preparation, accounting engagements, business advisory, and audit and attest work. We are looking for someone who enjoys problem solving, appreciates variety in their work, and wants to continue learning and developing professionally. **Salary: $75,000–$90,000 per year, depending on experience, credentials, and public accounting background.** ### What We Offer: - Flexible scheduling and hybrid work opportunities based on role and experience - Full-time schedule, Monday–Thursday 8–5 and Friday 8–12. - Longer days during tax season. - Medical, dental, and vision insurance. - PTO and sick time and 9 paid holidays. - SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with company match. - Short-term and long-term disability coverage, Life insurance. - Direct client interaction and meaningful responsibility - Exposure to a variety of industries and engagement types - Professional development support, including CPA-related growth - A collaborative environment that values initiative, professionalism, and continuous improvement ### What We're Looking For: - Prior public accounting experience strongly preferred - CPA or active CPA candidate preferred - Audit or attest experience is a plus - Strong communication and organizational skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines - Someone who takes ownership of their work, follows through, and is willing to learn - Experience with nonprofit organizations is a plus ### Responsibilities for The Accounting & Advisory Associate Include: - Preparing individual, business, and nonprofit tax returns - Assisting with accounting and business advisory projects - Participating in audit, review, and compilation engagements - Preparing financial statements and related workpapers - Communicating directly with clients throughout engagements - Helping improve internal processes and workflow efficiencies - Working closely with firm leadership and staff across service areas - Candidates interested in technical and quality-focused work may have opportunities for additional involvement as experience develops.
