A company in Bakersfield is seeking an experienced **Accounting Manager** to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help strengthen financial processes as the organization grows. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional ready to take ownership, lead a team, and work closely with leadership. The Accounting Manager will oversee the month-end close, financial reporting, general ledger, and daily accounting activities while ensuring accurate and timely financial information. This role will also support budgeting, audits, internal controls, and ongoing process improvements. ### Key Responsibilities - Lead month-end and year-end close processes - Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity - Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reporting - Oversee AP, AR, and other day-to-day accounting functions - Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis - Coordinate audit requests and ensure accurate supporting documentation - Maintain and strengthen accounting policies and internal controls - Supervise and develop accounting staff - Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies ### Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - 5+ years of progressive accounting experience - Previous supervisory or management experience preferred - Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes - Proficiency with Excel and accounting/ERP systems - Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills ### Why Join? - Opportunity to take ownership of a broad accounting function - High visibility and collaboration with leadership - Hands-on role with opportunities to improve processes and develop the accounting team
