ACR Assistant Manager -Aruba

Job description

Are you ready to shape the future with confidence? Will you shape the future, or will the future shape you? How will we work better together to build a better working world? At EY, you'll have the opportunity to build a truly exceptional experience. We empower you with the latest technology, surround you with high-performing teams, and provide the global scale and diverse, inclusive culture you need to discover your full potential. Through our coaching and training programs, you'll develop the skills necessary to stay relevant today and in the future — all while building a network of colleagues, mentors, and leaders who will be on this journey with you at EY and beyond. The Opportunity: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Manager of Accounting, Compliance & Reporting to join our Accounting, Compliance & Reporting team in Aruba. In this role, you will work closely with clients and senior team members to deliver accurate financial reporting, take ownership of your own client portfolio, and begin guiding and coaching more junior colleagues as you grow into a leadership role. Key Responsibilities: Act as a day-to-day contact for clients on financial reporting and accounting matters, building strong working relationships and escalating complex issues to the engagement manager. Prepare and review financial statements and reports in line with relevant accounting standards and regulations, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. Support clients in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, contributing practical insights and recommendations. Analyze clients' financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement, and flagging potential issues early. Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and adjustments. Collaborate with colleagues across service lines to support clients' financial decision-making. Contribute to the design and roll-out of internal controls and financial policies for clients. Support audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries on behalf of clients. Coach and review the work of junior team members, helping them develop technically and professionally. Stay up to date on changes in accounting regulations and best practices. What We Look For: You have an agile, growth-oriented mindset. While your knowledge is important, the right mindset is crucial for success. We seek innovative individuals who can adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing environment. You are curious and purpose-driven. We value individuals who see opportunities instead of challenges and ask insightful questions to uncover better answers. You are inclusive. We appreciate team members who embrace diverse perspectives, value differences, and foster an environment of safety and trust. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; progress toward a professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus. Solid experience in accounting, compilation, controlling, or financial reporting, preferably within a professional services environment. Good working knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Caseware Cloud is an advantage. Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication (Dutch, English & Papiamento) and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting, with a first experience in guiding or reviewing the work of others. What's In It For You: Accelerate your technical capabilities and transformative leadership skills with future-focused courses and development programs. Broaden your horizons by working on highly integrated teams across the globe and collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds — both professionally and culturally. Bring out the best in yourself with continuous investment in your personal well-being and career development. Develop your own personal purpose and help us create a positive ripple effect on our teams, our business, clients, and society. Are you ready to shape your future with confidence? Click to apply!
