Job Summary We are seeking passionate, knowledgeable, and reliable senior algebra tutors to join our Richmond team. You will work one-on-one with students to support their academic success in subjects such as general science, biology, chemistry, physics, algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, calculus, and other STEM-related areas. Tutors will tailor instruction to individual learning styles to help students build confidence and mastery. Key Responsibilities Provide academic support in science and/or math aligned with Virginia’s curriculum standards. Design and deliver customized tutoring sessions in STEM subjects. Offer remedial or enrichment instruction based on each student’s needs. Assign supplemental materials to enhance understanding and retention. Maintain open communication with parents/guardians to report on student progress and goals. Qualifications & Skills We are looking for certified educators, STEM subject matter experts (e.g., engineers, graduate students in scientific or mathematical fields), and soon-to-be teachers who meet the following criteria: Energetic and enthusiastic about helping students learn and grow. Strong knowledge of math and/or science content. Committed to providing exceptional, personalized instruction and customer service. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to adapt to a wide range of learning styles and student needs. Professional, punctual, and organized. Requirements All applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree and meet at least one of the following: Hold a valid Virginia State teaching certificate (or equivalent from another state). Currently enrolled in a teacher certification program. Have 2+ years of experience teaching in a private, public, or charter school. Have experience as a lecturer or course instructor at an accredited U.S. college or university. Are a Master’s or PhD student with experience as a teaching assistant at a U.S. university or college.
