Ambulatory Clinical Social Worker: Pediatric Primary Care and Adolescent Clinics

The Children's Hospital of Richmond, Children's Pavilion Pediatric Primary Care Team is looking for a new licensed clinical social work to join their team! The general pediatrics and primary care team provides compassionate and skilled care for every child! This is a unique position that require not only the clinical skillset of an LCSW, but also skills related to team work, educating newer providers, and building workflows with the team. Clinics within general primary care also include lactation and adolescent clinics. The interdisciplinary team will rely on this clinician to help mitigate barriers to care including assessment and coordinating treatment needs for maternal mental health, suicidal ideation, substance use, and intimate partner violence. This clinician will also help with collaborating with schools, child protective services, and other community agencies and resources that the patient/family interface with. Other resource and support needs occur that require complex case management support and also helping families to identify the right supports for social drivers of health. Ideal candidates would be those that enjoy working within various teams, utilize creativity, self-starters, solution focused, and critical thinkers. Additionally, this team member will join a team of social workers who support various clinics throughout the Central Virginia area, as well as a small team of social workers that also support these same clinics. Work hours are normal business hours, Mon-Fri, major holidays off with PTO, no on call or weekend expectation. Business casual attire is expected. Additionally, the Health System follows Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for hand hygiene and fingernail care. The purpose of the Clinical Social Worker 3 (MSW) position is to provide both direct patient care to patients and families and assist in the coordination of team delivered services. The Clinical Social Worker 3 will complete a psychosocial assessment; develop treatment plans that are congruent with the overall health care plan; provide psychosocial intervention; educate patients, their family members, staff and social work students; facilitate compliance with treatment; work with the community to provide needed services; and coordinate discharge planning activities. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Virginia preferred Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: N/A Experience REQUIRED: CSW Level 3: minimum of three (3) years of clinical social work experience with at least one (1) year in a specialty practice area Experience PREFERRED: Clinical social work experience in an acute care setting preferred Education/training REQUIRED: Master of Social Work Degree from a Council on Social Work Education accredited program Education/training PREFERRED: N/A Independent action(s) required: Initiate patient/family intervention based on self-assessment of service need(s). Initiate community/facility referrals based on identified patient/family needs. Initiate consultation with facility staff regarding psychosocial patient/family needs. Contact the appropriate Social Services Department to report suspected abuse/neglect/exploitation cases. Develop intervention plans and related interventions with patients/families/significant others. Initiate education activities with and for facility staff. Contribute to quality improvement activities through self-analysis of services and needs. Participate in service area meetings, training, and patient care conferences. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): This position may supervise social work students on a voluntary basis. Depending on unit assignment may supervise other Masters and Doctoral Degree students from other disciplines (e.g. Psychology). Additional position requirements: Depending on the unit assignment, may be required to work alternate schedules, weekends and/or holidays, and take call. May be required to work alternate unit assignments, including at other clinical locations. Compensation Grade Ranges: Clinical Social Worker 2: $58,697.60 - $87,942.40 Clinical Social Worker 3: $62,420.80 - $96,740.80 Actual Salary offers will be based on several key factors to include relevant work experience, credentials, and qualifications.
