Job description
The Role As an Annual Surveyor , you'll be out on the road visiting customer sites across the region. Your work will include: Annual Fire Alarm surveys Testing fire alarms, sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, passive protection, and handheld fire equipment and other specified systems. Ensuring all systems meet NZ Standards and the Building Act. Deliver a safe, accurate, and professional compliance services. This is a full-time, permanent role (40 hours/week, Mon–Fri) and unlike many jobs these days, this one cannot be done by AI, so your skills are always in demand. We’re looking for an experienced Surveyor/Tester who knows their way around NZ Standards and compliance requirements. You will need to be able to use a mobile device to enter your test results and timesheet will be created through the use of the testing app. What we are looking for Our “must-haves” aren’t long, but they matter: Strong communication skills A motivated attitude and desire to learn Integrity, initiative, and reliable work ethic A clean NZ driver’s license Minimum 3 years’ experience in Fire & Building Compliance in NZ (preferred) Working knowledge of NZ Standards and the Building Act NZQA Systems Technology Level 3 (or willingness to complete it) New Zealand residency Ideally you will already be in the Wellington region. You need to be a team player. Ideally, you come with: Effective communication skills A keen, motivated attitude; and desire to learn A full, NZ driver’s licence The physical fitness to be able to carry work equipment around sites. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Fire & Building Compliance in NZ. A working knowledge of NZ Standards and Building Act. NZQA Systems Technology Level 3 is preferred.
