To support our global commercial team, we are looking for an Application Engineer. The role is based in our new HQ in Hengelo, where you will join the EMEA team of Application Engineers. This team is part of our global ASE (Application and Sales Engineering) group with engineers from Americas, China, India and SEA.
As an Application Engineer you will play a central role between our customers (OEM’s, EPC’s and End users), our R&D team, sales engineering and our Sales Managers. You will contribute developing Hollow Fiber NanoFiltration (HFNF) membrane solutions, not only with our advanced projection tool, but also by on- and off site piloting with our fleet of pilot systems and supporting our clients with technical challenges. Do you want to be part of an innovative, international, and maturing organization that has a central role in addressing global water scarcity and quality concerns in a sustainable way? Then this is your chance!
What will you do?
A typical day starts with data monitoring and analysis of your pilot projects. You are in control because you drafted a thorough project plan and discussed this with the client before the pilot commenced. During coffee with the regional sales manager you collaborate on the technical review of new full-scale projects. What is needed to be successful? Together you also prepare a recurring progress meeting of an active pilot project. You confer with other members of the ASE team on the right strategy and technical challenges.
Just before lunch you confirm with Sales Support which NF module and which pilot are to be used for transport to the next project location. You schedule time to assess and service a returning pilot, preparing it for immediate deployment. Time for lunch in our spacious canteen or a casual walk alongside the Twentekanaal. In the progress meeting with the client, you present the latest data and make recommendations for changes in operational settings, aligning with client expectations and ensuring stable performance.
A quick call with one of the sales engineers ensures that lessons learned from a recently finished project are captured in a final report and implemented in technical bulletins, performance database, and application matrix. Just before an already productive day ends, you prepare a 3-day commissioning trip abroad, where you will help the client ensuring a smooth start-up of the pilot project by commissioning the installation, providing hands-on support and making sure the project plan is executed appropriately.
Who are you?
You take responsibility for successful HFNF membrane solutions for our customers and customer orientation and satisfaction is what drives you. Clear reporting and communication are key in this role, you have a hands-on mentality and you don’t mind to get your hands dirty either.
Client focussed, curious, self-starting, result driven, and a team player;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Familiar collaborating with OEM’s, EPC’s and end-users;
2-3 years hands-on experience in pilots and experimental concept validation;
Understanding of water treatment and (membrane) filtration;
Willing and available for (inter)national travel;
Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in a technical area;
Excellent verbal/written skills in English;
An additional language is an advantage;
Living close to Hengelo or willing to relocate.
What do we offer you?
A highly independent job within a growing company in an international, innovative environment. Your personal performance and creativity will be rewarded with a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and opportunities for personal growth and an exciting career path.
Company Description
NX Filtration is growing and has unique technology for global water quality and quantity challenges. Our mission is: ‘pure and affordable water for all’. We therefore produce advanced hollow fibre membranes for use in nanofiltration, ultrafiltration and microfiltration applications, enabling our partners to excel in sustainable membrane filtration applications.
Our membrane technology filters the smallest contaminants from water such as nanoplastics, organics, dyes, drug residues, bacteria and viruses. This has resulted in new and simple processes for water treatment, wastewater reuse and drinking water production. An entirely new, highly modern state-of-the-art plant was just commissioned in Hengelo (OV).
