If you are looking to join a great organization and a chance to become a part of our growing team, this may be the opportunity for you! **Position Summary:** The Assistant Plant Manager partners closely with production, maintenance, engineering, quality, and distribution teams to drive operational excellence, improve efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position plays a key leadership role in developing team members, strengthening Service Wire’s safety-first culture, and supporting plant-wide performance goals. ### Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities: - Promote a safety-first culture by leading by example and ensuring safe work practices across all departments - Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and industry standards - Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation - Ensure plant maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment - Maintain active role on internal continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost performance - Assist the Plant Manager in overseeing daily manufacturing operations to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery (OTD), and Cost objectives - Coordinate production activities to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of manufacturing schedules - Monitor production performance and implement improvements to increase productivity and reduce downtime - Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve operational issues and maximize equipment uptime - Support implementation of standard operating procedures and best practices across manufacturing processes - Assist with capital projects, equipment installations, and process improvements - Support warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations to ensure timely delivery and inventory accuracy - Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to align production schedules with material availability - Help improve order fulfillment processes and on-time delivery performance - Support production planning and prioritization to meet customer demands - Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to supervisors, operators, and plant personnel - Promote employee engagement and teamwork across manufacturing and distribution functions - Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management - Communicate Service Wire goals, expectations, and performance metrics to team members - Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable work environment - Identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve operational efficiency - Participate in production meetings and review key performance indicators - Support quality management systems and ensure compliance with quality standards - Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to plant operations - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, purchasing, and engineering - Other duties as assigned ### Knowledge/Skills/Requirements: - High School Diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or related field preferred - 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, production, or industrial environment - Experience in continuous improvement processes or manufacturing plant operations - Strong team development skills - Knowledge of safety regulations and operational best practices - Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment - In-person attendance is required - May require occasional extended hours based on business needs ### Reports To: Plant Manager ### The perks of joining our Team - **Comprehensive Insurance Options** - Competitive medical coverage with a variety of plan choices - **Progressive PTO & Paid Holidays** - Tenure-based paid time off pluseight paid holidaysannually - **401(k) with Company Match + Profit Sharing** - Matching 5% on 6% of employee contributions and annual profit‑sharing contributions - **Career Growth & Learning Support** - Tuition reimbursement and employee assistance programs - **Tuition reimbursement up to $15,000** - annually to support your continued education and career growth - **Referral Bonus Program** - Employee referral bonuses paid out over the new hire's first year - See all benefits we offer[**here**](https://www.servicewire.com/Careers/Why-Service-Wire.htm)
