If you thrive in a dynamic, growth-minded environment where your contribution directly matters and you’ll work alongside skilled professionals focused on achieving business-driven legal solutions, Mayer is where you can make an impact. ### Responsibilities - Represent clients involved in various construction related incidents, construction defect, breach of contract, and breach of warranty - Provide comprehensive legal counsel and defense strategies to individuals, businesses, and insurance companies operating within the construction industry - Conduct thorough investigations into construction cases, analyze evidence, asses liability, and develop defense strategies tailored to each case's unique circumstances - Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedings - Conduct legal research and provide legal analysis on various issues related to construction and personal injury law - Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests - Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials - Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel - Participate in case strategy discussions and negotiations - Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized records - Attend continuing legal education courses to stay current on legal developments in the construction industry ### Experience - Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school - Admission to the State Bar of Texas - The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in construction defect cases - Strong research and writing skills - Excellent oral communication and negotiation skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Strong organizational and time management skills - Willingness to travel when necessary - Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery requests - Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials - Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel - Participate in case strategy discussions and negotiations - Manage case files and maintain accurate and organized records - Attend continuing legal education courses to stay current on legal developments in the construction industry ### Technology Mayer LLP has implemented the following technology platforms: - Westlaw - Harvey AI - Coyote - PointOne - iManage ### Benefits - Competitive quarterly bonus plan based on monthly billables - ability to earn an additional $52k annually - Full suite of health/dental/vision benefits that go into effect the 1st of the month after an employee starts with the firm - 10 company holidays + 4 early release days - Hybrid schedule (3 days/week in office, 2 days/week at home) - 401k + firm match based on previous year revenue.
