It is also one of the market leaders in certain testing and laboratory services for genomics, and in the support of clinical studies, as well as in biopharma contract development and manufacturing. It also has a rapidly developing presence in highly specialised and molecular clinical diagnostic testing and in-vitro diagnostic products. In over 37 years, Eurofins has grown from one laboratory in Nantes, France to over 65,000 staff across a decentralised and entrepreneurial network of more than 950 laboratories in over 1,000 companies across 59 countries. Eurofins Forensic Services , operating in UK, Netherlands, France, Germany and Belgium, sits at the core of European criminal justice systems, acting as the trusted scientific partner to police forces and courts, and providing critical evidence that enables fair and accurate outcomes in serious criminal investigations. For software engineers, this is a rare opportunity to build systems where code directly impacts real-world justices supporting DNA analysis, Forensic Case Management, and forensic workflows that can identify suspects and strengthen legal decision-making. The UK forensic ecosystem remains one of the most advanced globally, combining cutting-edge science, strict regulatory standards, and continuous innovation; advances in data science, AI, and trace analysis are actively transforming how evidence is detected, interpreted, and used in investigations. As part of the acquisition of Qualitype, Eurofins’ internal model already emphasises the integration of software development, quality engineering, and forensic domain expertise , giving engineers direct exposure to highly specialized scientific applications rarely found in traditional tech roles. A compelling real-world example is the re‑analysis of cold cases using modern DNA techniques—some decades old—which have led to successful convictions years later, demonstrating how advances in forensic technology can fundamentally change investigative outcomes and deliver long-overdue justice. In short, a role at Eurofins Forensics offers a unique combination of technical challenge, societal impact, and domain depth —where engineers are not just building software but enabling a system that underpins public safety and the pursuit of truth. Eurofins Forensic Services is a leading provider of forensic science to police forces and the criminal justice system across the UK and Europe. Our work plays a critical role in delivering justice, supporting investigations, and protecting communities.
