Line of Service Overview Our Middle East Assurance practice includes over 2,300 people based in 12 countries across the region and is part of PwC’s global network that is operating worldwide. PwC Middle East’s Assurance practice combines the right mix of human-led and tech powered solutions to provide our clients with quality audits and other risk services that create confidence and impact in our region and across society. Business Unit Overview Our Sustainability Assurance practice is a rapidly expanding and strategically significant part of our Assurance line of service across the Middle East. We bring together dedicated ESG specialists and experienced financial assurance practitioners to deliver high quality, independent assurance over sustainability information, including disclosures aligned with ISSB (IFRS S1 and IFRS S2), GRI and other global frameworks. Operating as an integrated regional team, we support clients across Qatar and the wider Middle East as they respond to evolving regulatory expectations, investor demands, and national sustainability agendas. We work with leading organizations across sectors—including energy, financial services, government, industrials, and consumer markets—to enhance the credibility of their sustainability reporting and strengthen trust with investors, regulators, and the public. As part of our continued expansion, we are investing in talent, technology, and innovative assurance approaches to help shape the future of Sustainability reporting in the region. How You’ll Contribute This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team, drive meaningful impact, and grow professionally. As Sustainability Assurance Manager focused mainly on ISSB reporting, you will lead and deliver assurance engagements over sustainability related disclosures, with a particular emphasis on IFRS S1 (General Sustainability related Disclosures) and IFRS S2 (Climate related Disclosures). Key responsibilities Engagement Delivery & Quality Manage sustainability assurance engagements, including planning, risk assessment, execution, and reporting, with a focus on ISSB aligned disclosures. Assess the design and operating effectiveness of processes, controls, and data systems supporting sustainability reporting. Evaluate client readiness for ISSB adoption and provide recommendations for enhancing reporting quality and governance. Review sustainability metrics, climate related disclosures, scenario analysis, and transition plans for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with IFRS S1 and S2. Ensure all work complies with professional assurance standards (ISSA 5000 or ISAE 3000/3410) and internal quality requirements. Demonstrate extensive project management skills related to projects, including developing project plans, budgets, and deliverables schedules. Performing engagement responsibilities including collaborating with the engagement leader and teams for agreeing budgets, communication of results and their impact on the overall project and making contributions to the final reporting. contributing to develop our regional sustainability assurance capabilities, coaching teams, supporting business development, and contributing to thought leadership as the Middle East transitions toward globally consistent sustainability reporting. Technical Expertise & Thought Leadership Serve as a subject matter resource on ISSB standards, climate related reporting, and broader ESG frameworks. Stay current with regional regulatory developments, including initiatives by QFMA, QCB, GCC regulators, and stock exchanges. Contribute to training materials and knowledge sharing initiatives. Support the development of tools, templates, and guidance to enhance the efficiency and quality of sustainability assurance engagements. Client Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, including sustainability leaders. Provide insights on global best practices in sustainability reporting and assurance. Team Leadership & Development Manage, coach, and mentor junior team members across sustainability and financial assurance backgrounds. Support resource planning and contribute to building a high‑performing, multidisciplinary sustainability assurance team. Foster a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation. Business Development Support proposal development, client presentations, and go‑to‑market initiatives. Contribute to market insights, thought leadership, and events that position the firm as a leader in sustainability assurance in Qatar and the Middle East. What You’ll Bring You are ambitious and you utilize opportunities to grow and develop. In addition, you recognize yourself in the following characteristics: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. Professional qualification preferred (e.g., CA, ACCA or sustainability related certifications). 5-7 years of experience in financial and sustainabiliy assurance, ideally within a Big 4 environment. Strong technical understanding of ISSB standards (IFRS S1 & S2), GHG Protocol, and other ESG frameworks. Experience delivering assurance under ISAE 3000 and/or ISAE 3410. Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a fast pace and high energy that will translate into a high-quality output. Excellent organisational skills, having the ability to prioritize workload whilst being resilient and being able to cope well under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills. Fluent in English but multilingual Arabic speaker preferable. The ability and willingness to travel within the Middle East with base location in Qatar.
