🍰Baker

Job description

Our people are the best part about Demetres and we're always looking for the right people to carry the tradition of excellence. Demetres is a place where good things happen. We serve brilliant desserts that are handcrafted in store, with our own craft ice creams made right here in our central kitchen. As a Baker/Pastry Cook at our central bakery, you will be responsible for daily prep, baking, scaling, mixing, and making all kinds of cakes, desserts, batters, doughs, and ice creams. You will be the magic behind the desserts that Canadians have loved for over 35 years! If you have a passion for precision and a love for the art of pastry, we want you in our kitchen. What You’ll Do: Craft Excellence: Scale, mix, and bake a diverse range of cakes, pastries, doughs, and our famous craft ice creams. Master the Station: Set up and maintain your workspace, ensuring equipment like industrial mixers and ovens are kept in peak condition. Precision Prep: Organize ingredients and execute meticulous lot tracking to ensure food safety and traceability. The Gold Standard: Ensure every batch is consistent, on time, and meets our "perfect every time" quality benchmark. Safety First: Uphold the highest standards of workplace safety and food handling (HACCP/Food Handler protocols). What You Bring: Experience: Previous professional baking/pastry experience or culinary education is required. The "Baker’s Eye": You are meticulous with measurements and have a sharp eye for detail. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a shift and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs. Technical Skill: Comfortable operating commercial mixers, ovens, and stoves. Efficiency: A knack for multitasking in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality. Why You'll Love It Here: The Vibe: Great tunes and a team that actually likes each other. The Perks: Employee discounts (yes, the ice cream is that good). The Balance: Set shifts (AM/PM) that respect your time. The Growth: We love to promote from within! The Details: Location: 111 Strada Drive, Woodbridge, ON (Transit accessible + free on-site parking). Schedule: Full-time and Part-time opportunities available. We offer morning, afternoon, and evening shifts.
