Base Assembly Construction Laborer/Welder – Day Shift Monday–Thursday | 5:00 AM-3:30 PM 4-day work week Pay $22.00–$28.00 per hour starting wage, based on experience Structured increases at 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year, with annual reviews after that About Haakon Haakon is an established industrial manufacturer known for quality, reliability, and long-term stability. About the Role We are hiring a Bases/Sawyer team member to cut materials and assemble bases used in custom commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. This role includes reading prints, measuring materials, converting fractions to decimals, completing sawyer calculations, operating saws and power tools, and supporting the base assembly process. Accuracy matters because properly measured and cut materials affect every stage that follows. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone with strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. This is a safety-sensitive position. Safe work practices and attention to detail are required at all times. What You Will Do • Read prints, measurements, and production instructions • Measure materials accurately using a tape measure • Convert fractions to decimals and complete basic sawyer calculations • Cut materials according to required dimensions and specifications • Assist with assembling bases for custom HVAC equipment • Use saws, hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, and rigging safely • Follow established safety policies and build standards • Inspect measurements, cuts, and completed work for accuracy • Keep tools and work areas clean, organized, and ready for production • Work with your team to meet production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards What We're Looking For • Able to read a tape measure or willing to learn • Comfortable working with fractions, decimals, and basic shop math • Comfortable using hand and power tools • Able to follow prints, visual aids, work instructions, and demonstrated processes • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing accurate work • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic • Able to learn new tasks, apply feedback, and adapt to production needs • Team-oriented and willing to help wherever needed Preferred Experience • Manufacturing, construction, carpentry, fabrication, or other skilled labor experience • Experience using saws, hand tools, or power tools • Experience reading prints, drawings, or work instructions • Experience measuring and cutting materials accurately Previous manufacturing experience is helpful but not required for candidates who demonstrate mechanical aptitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
