BDR - Business Development Representative - French Speaking

Job description

**About Prelude** Prelude is redefining how companies authenticate and onboard users - turning what's traditionally a cost center into a growth lever. Our flagship product lets businesses send OTP codes with the best price-to-conversion ratio on the market, dynamically selecting the most effective channel in real time (optimized SMS, WhatsApp, and more) while actively blocking spam and fraud that legacy providers miss. Founded in 2022 by former Zenly team members who lived the pain of broken SMS authentication firsthand, we're already serving fast-growing companies across Europe and are expanding into the US. But authentication is only the starting point - we're building the platform for trust at scale, with an ambitious roadmap of market-defining products ahead. **Why join us** Today, we're a team of 60 and growing, based in Paris, building products that power secure and high-performance user onboarding for companies across the world. We believe small, highly skilled teams outperform large, fragmented organizations, and we are intentional about staying focused on impact, quality, and speed. We operate with a flat org structure and value in-person collaboration, which helps ideas move faster, decisions stay grounded, and teams take full ownership of what they build. **Our values** - **Care**We care deeply about our customers, our teammates, and the quality and reliability of what we ship. - **Bias for Action**We move fast, test in the real world, and iterate quickly rather than over-optimizing in theory. - **Ownership**We take responsibility end to end, from identifying problems to delivering outcomes and learning from results. **About the role** As a core member of our Sales team, you’ll connect with a wide range of prospects and spark their interest in our authentication tech. You’ll be on the front lines of our growth engine, partnering with AEs and other BDRs to uncover opportunities, start meaningful conversations, fuel a steady pipeline of qualified leads, and own the full lifecycle for smaller deals. **What you'll do** As a Business Development Representative, you’ll focus on getting companies excited about our product. You’ll be reaching out to prospects across every level - from procurement managers and lead engineers to heads of anti-fraud, platform owners, CTOs, CPOs, and even CEOs. Your day-to-day will involve: - Generating new sales opportunities for Prelude - Identifying companies and people to target within your verticals/territories - Cold calling and emailing as well as experimenting with other channels to find new leads - Qualifying leads and pitching Prelude's value proposition - Closing smaller deals independently - Maintaining a clean CRM - Improving processes as we scale our business **About you:** - You have 6 months to **1 year of BDR or sales experience** in selling a technical product at a startup, scale-up, or SaaS company - You can handle the friction and challenges of cold calling and outbound prospecting - Solid understanding of qualification fundamentals - Able to understand technical concepts and translate them into business terms - A proactive mindset, with a drive to start conversations, build momentum, and close deals - Structured and rigorous in managing your pipeline, CRM hygiene, and performance metrics - You know your way around HubSpot, Sales Navigator, Apollo, RingOver, or Kaspr - You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, taking initiative and finding solutions - Strong interpersonal skills and an excellent team player - Curious, coachable, and eager to learn by doing - Fluency in selling a technical product in **English and French** **What we offer** - Competitive compensation package (base + uncapped commission) - Comprehensive health insurance plan - Urban Sports Club gym membership - 100% transport subsidised - Swile meal vouchers - Pet-friendly office environment - Free snacks and drinks in the office - Laptop and equipment needed to do the role - Hybrid working style: 4 days at the office and 1 day at home, with 4 weeks of remote working per year - An annual offsite in a great location (last one was at Le Pradet) **Interview process** - Call with recruiter - Call with a Sales team member - Case study - A visit to our offices to meet the team and interview with our CEO We don't expect you to ace ***all*** these stages - we will evaluate your creativity and how you approach difficult problems.
