THE ROLE
The Technical Project Specialist is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise, managing project execution, and supporting sales and business development initiatives. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide advanced technical support, including product selection, costing, proposal development, and solution design
- Translate customer requirements into accurate quotations, pricing, and technical recommendations
- Conduct engineering analyses, including hydraulic calculations and pump performance evaluations
- Create, review, and follow up on quotations while supporting sales growth and customer satisfaction
- Consult with customers to understand process requirements and recommend appropriate solutions
- Process and manage customer orders, monitor order status, and coordinate with vendors to meet delivery timelines
- Resolve customer inquiries and technical issues in a timely manner
- Manage major project bids and coordinate activities across internal departments and external stakeholders
- Ensure project timelines, specifications, documentation, and compliance requirements are met
- Maintain project documentation, including technical reports, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and user manuals
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and vendors
- Contribute to business objectives through technical expertise, project execution, and sales support
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- College diploma in a related field
- 6 to 9 years of experience in technical sales, application support, engineering, or a related environment
- Experience with product selection, costing, proposal development, and technical quotations
- Experience performing hydraulic calculations, pump performance evaluations, and engineering analysis
- Proficiency with ERP, CRM, order entry, and quoting systems (Epicor P21 or similar preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
