Business Analyst - Finance

Job description

## **Why KYP?** At KYP, we believe that Construction can Build Better. That might sound obvious, yet in daily practice it’s far from the standard. And it starts with a basic attitude: to Keep Your Promise, which our customers came to call KYPing. Make promises you can keep, and do everything to keep the promises you make. A simple principle, yet so often out of reach. By KYPing, we create more time for what matters most, whether that's chasing bigger ambitions, or being home on time for family. With KYP, Time Is Yours. Promises can be kept when priorities are clear. **That’s why we're building** **the Priority Solution for Construction**. From design to approval to realisation, we make priorities visible through transparent information, so everyone knows what's been promised, what needs to happen, and who needs to act. That’s how we help customers turn their ideas and expectations into clear goals and shared ambitions on any construction project. Every day, tens of thousands of people rely on KYP for the success of their projects, in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and increasingly worldwide. In the Netherlands, 92% of the top 50 largest construction companies build with KYP. **So, if you're in the Netherlands, there's a great chance that a project in your neighbourhood is being built with KYP right now.** We believe that the future of Construction will be self-organising: a seamless collaboration between all stakeholders and participants around shared project ambitions, whether human, agent or robot, wherever in the world. We call what makes this possible **Construction Intelligence (CI)**. Built on data from thousands of KYP projects, CI helps each of our customers with KYPing so they make better decisions and act proactively, creating value for everyone involved. As a result, anyone can turn a project ambition into reality. That's why **our mission is that by 2030, everyone knows what KYPing means.** ## **What you’ll be responsible for** Our product team builds KYP into the simplest, most collaborative and proactive platform for anyone who wants to KYP. We hold ourselves to the same standard: every role at KYP is expected to KYP as well. As our Business Analyst for Finance, you’ll be responsible for KYPing at our five levels. This role goes beyond ensuring healthy financial results. It’s about driving platform growth and long-term value creation for our customers. - **KYPing:** - *You'll ensure our financial planning is transparantly communicated* - Processes and administration: ensuring correct and timely bookkeeping (ledgers, receivables, payables, payroll, tax filings) and billing, with processes that are clear, documented and easy to verify. - Budgeting and planning: owning the annual budget and rolling forecasts, and keeping a continuous view on cash flow and liquidity - Closing and accountability: running monthly and year-end closes and acting as the point of contact for our external accountant. - **KYPing with people** - *You'll ensure financial agreements are aligned among our people* - Metrics and data foundation: defining and monitoring our key SaaS metrics (ARR/MRR, churn, net revenue retention, CAC, LTV) and connecting financial, CRM and platform data using our datawarehouse. - Reporting: sharing clear, regular reports that show each team lead where they stand against their targets and commitments. - Performance analysis: digging into revenue drivers, customer cohorts and conversions, and translating findings into concrete improvements for our product, sales and marketing processes. - **KYPing with data** - *You’ll make sure our initiatives and agreements are objectively supported and measurable with financial and operational data.* - Financial modelling and business cases: extending our financial model with scenarios, growth plans and pricing options, evaluating new initiatives on ROI and payback, and supporting the team leads on investment decisions with data. - Product development: translating concrete process improvements into product decisions for both internal and external products, estimating the expected impact of new features upfront, and evaluating initiatives after launch against what we expected. - **KYPing with result** - *You’ll provide the right insights at the right time, so we can act on time, and reach our goals.* - Early signals: analysing variances between plan and actuals, and flagging risks and opportunities early enough so actions can still adjust course. - Predicting: working with our Business Intelligence (our internal AI) and team leads to predict which product, sales or marketing initiatives will improve platform growth and value creation for our customers - **KYPing for value** - *You’ll make sure we assess potential value upfront and create it proactively.* - Long-term value: identifying which customer segments, project types and markets hold the greatest long-term potential for our customers and for KYP, and turning that into a clear basis for where we prioritise and invest first. - International growth: supporting our growth across Europe by assessing market potential of different countries and go-to-market routes upfront, mapping country-specific financial and tax requirements, and monitoring whether each market develops as planned. ## **Who we're looking for** KYP’s success is built on people who have built construction projects themselves. People who have stood in the rain at 6 AM and know exactly what needs to happen when a milestone is close. Our users and our team, the KYP’ers, have made KYP what it is. And so have the people who built our technology: our software engineers, designers and analysts. What makes KYP rare is that we bring these two worlds together: construction DNA and digital intelligence. Apart, they see only half the picture. Together, they can build something that defines the industry. We’ve learned that bringing people with different backgrounds together around a shared ambition takes a certain attitude. That’s why, in every role, we look for someone with: - a talent for turning complex problems into simple solutions - a relentless drive to keep getting better - a sense of urgency to deliver faster, without compromising quality - a mentality to question how things have always been done - a genuine curiosity about how construction projects really work - a no-ego, beginner’s mindset - a strong bias towards action If that's you, you'll do great at KYP ## **What you'll bring** To succeed in this role, you combine a solid financial background with a curiosity for what the numbers mean for our platform and our customers. You’ll bring: - 3+ years of experience in finance, FP&A or business analysis, ideally in a SaaS or scale-up environment - Hands-on experience with bookkeeping, finalising the monthly and year-end books, tax filings (VAT, payroll tax and corporate income tax) - Strong financial modelling skills, including scenarios, business cases and cash flow forecasting - A solid understanding of SaaS metrics such as ARR/MRR, churn, net revenue retention, CAC and LTV, or the drive to learn this quickly - Excellent at working with dashboards, data and AI tools to find answers yourself - The ability to translate numbers into clear insights and recommendations for non-financial colleagues - Fluency in Dutch and English, both spoken and written - A degree in finance, economics, econometrics, business or a related field ## **Why join KYP now?** By joining KYP now, you'll be building a new way of working with a small team, backed by a proven brand and platform which tens of thousands of people already rely on every day. Here you get the freedom of a blank page and the impact of scale at once. This is the team that will shape KYP's next phase of growth, alongside our sales and marketing team, and you'd be one of the first to define how that happens. ## **How we hire** 1. Fill in a short form after which we plan an initial exploratory call 2. We’ll send you a quick assignment asking you to present your ideas to make it better 3. Join us for a round of interviews to discuss your best work and core motivation 4. Join us for a trial day of work on-site. We’ll want to see how you tick, you get to meet the team and explore whether joining KYP feels right for you
