Business Development & Partnerships Manager

Job description

Cloudbox is a specialist managed services provider focused on delivering Microsoft 365, Azure, and cybersecurity solutions to financial services clients. We combine deep technical capability with a high standard of client service, and we take both seriously. This role offers a unique opportunity to build a strong network within the alternative investment and financial services community while developing expertise in managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, Microsoft technologies, AI enablement, and digital transformation - with meaningful exposure to senior executives and strategic industry partners. About the Role: Cloudbox is looking for a Business Development & Partnerships Manager to drive new business growth and build strategic referral partnerships across the New York tri-state area. This is a hunter role at the front end of Cloudbox's growth engine - you will generate qualified opportunities, build Cloudbox's presence among the advisers and influencers who serve alternative investment firms, and hand off cleanly to delivery once a client signs. You will work closely with senior sales leadership and the wider Cloudbox team to build pipeline through networking, partnership development, and disciplined CRM and AI-assisted sales practice. This is not an account management role - once a client signs, ownership of the relationship transitions to the Commercial Account Manager and Technical Account Manager, and this role moves on to the next opportunity. Our Clients: Our target market is exclusively private equity and private credit firms, hedge funds, family offices, asset managers, and other financial services organizations across the New York tri-state area (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut). These are demanding, high-expectations environments where credibility, discretion, and precision matter enormously. You will be building relationships with COOs, CFOs, and IT decision-makers, as well as the lawyers, prime brokers, auditors, and consultants who advise them. This means the role carries real weight from day one. Referral partners and prospective clients expect to deal with someone who understands the alternative investment space, communicates with precision, and can be trusted to represent Cloudbox credibly in rooms full of senior decision-makers. If that kind of high-stakes networking and relationship-building energises you, this role will suit you well. What We're Looking For Essential 5-7 years of experience in business development, sales, or partnership roles, ideally within financial services technology, MSP, or a related B2B environment Existing network or demonstrable ability to build relationships within private equity, private credit, hedge funds, family offices, or asset managers Confident, credible communicator - comfortable networking with COOs, CFOs, and IT decision-makers as well as the advisers who serve them Disciplined pipeline and CRM management; comfortable using AI-driven sales tools as part of a modern sales practice Self-motivated with a strong work ethic - genuinely enjoys networking, relationship building, and the discipline of a hunter role Based in, or able to work extensively across, the New York tri-state area Advantageous: Existing relationships with law firms, fund administrators, prime brokers, auditors, or consultants serving the alternative investment community Working knowledge of managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, Microsoft technologies, or AI enablement Experience selling into regulated financial services environments A track record of building a referral or channel partner program from an early stage Package & Benefits: Competitive base salary + commission + performance bonuses Medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company matching, paid time off Professional development and industry event participation
