Business Development Representative (BDR)

Job description

## **Vizzia at a glance** Vizzia enables local authorities to keep public spaces clean and safe. Our customers are mayors, elected officials and municipal departments. Every meeting you book is the start of a real project for a town and its residents. ## **🚀 The role** You are the BDR of a pod: a two-person sales team that develops a territory end to end. Your job is to build the pod's pipeline by booking qualified first meetings (P1) with decision-makers in the municipalities on your territory. It's the best seat in the house for learning the AE role: you're right there on the deals you open, you see what the best people do and you learn alongside them. Day to day, you work with your pod's AE and Regional Director. The BDR Director coaches you on the craft, alongside the other BDRs. ## **✅ What you'll do** - **Know your territory.** Map your municipalities, their elected officials and their calendar, and build the monthly prospecting plan with your pod's AE. - **Prepare.** Three minutes before each call: account history in HubSpot, nearby towns already equipped, local context (antisocial behaviour, budget, municipal calendar), so your opener speaks to that town. - **Call.** Prospect cold and on signals from marketing, reaching mayors, deputy mayors, chief executives (DGS), municipal police and cleanliness or security managers. - **Qualify.** Confirm the need, the project owner, the timeline and the budget, using the shared qualification grid agreed by the whole pod. - **Hand over and follow up.** Book the P1 in the AE's calendar with a usable summary note, then follow the next meeting with them so no P1 goes cold. ## **5–10% of your time at the heart of deals (2-4 hours/week with your AE):** - **Follow your deals after the P1.** Join demos, site visits and meetings with technical departments on the accounts you opened. - **Run a prospecting initiative.** A webinar, an elected officials' trade show or a local event on your territory. - **Prepare a strategic account.** Plan the attack on a large city or an intermunicipal community. This time doesn't come out of your power hours: you earn it only by meeting your activity standards. What you don't do: administrative support for the AEs. Your pod protects you from those tasks so your time stays on the phone. ## **🎯 What we expect from you** This is a job of volume and endurance: - **Around 70 calls a day**, about 4 hours on the phone in protected one-hour blocks. - **A monthly target of qualified P1s**, set for your territory. - **A shared pipeline and signing target** with your pod. Your rituals are split between two circles: - **With the BDRs**: a daily check-in and check-out, and a weekly group call review. - **With your pod**: a weekly pipeline review to decide which accounts to go after. ## **⭐ Who we're looking for** We hire for attitude first: someone who goes after things rather than waiting to be handed them, and who plays for the team's result. **Must-haves** - **Endurance and consistency.** You keep the pace every day, not just on good days. A "no" doesn't cost you the rest of your morning. - **Initiative.** You don't wait for the green light: you suggest, you test a new opener, you go find the information you're missing. - **Team spirit.** You think in terms of the pod's pipeline, not just your own numbers, and you're comfortable challenging an AE when a P1 isn't followed up. - **Confident communicator.** You can grab a mayor's attention in 30 seconds and set a clear frame for the conversation. - **Coachability.** You let others listen to your calls, you take feedback and you apply it the very next day. - **Rigour.** Your CRM is clean, you keep your commitments, and you protect your call blocks from interruptions. - **Languages.** Full working proficiency in French and English. **Nice to have** - Curiosity about local government (elected officials, budgets, grants) or public safety and cleanliness. - Italian language skills ## **What we offer** **VizziAcademy, our in-house sales training:** a playbook for every stage, a library of our best calls, one-on-one coaching with the BDR Director, and a certification. **Compensation:** 57k OTE (incl. between 20k uncapped bonus) 🏡 Hybrid work 🏝 “Contrat ETAM” and 25 vacation days 💻 MacBook 💸 BSPCE 🍜 60% coverage of meal vouchers worth €9 per worked day 🚃/🚲 Sustainable mobility allowance 🏥 Mutuelle 💼 Offices located in central Paris (9th arrondissement) ☀️ Annual offsite with the whole team and plenty of company events ## **⚙️ Hiring process** 1. **30-min interview** with a Talent Acquisition Manager: your motivation and background. 2. **90-min on-site:** - 30-min conversation with the BDR Director: your background and our expectations. - 60-min role play: we send you 1-2 briefs on municipalities the day before, you prepare, then you make a cold prospecting call to a manager, followed by a debrief. 3. **Final fit on-site:** - 30-min with your future pod (Regional Director + AE), to see how you'd work together. - 30-min interview with the CRO. 4. **Offer (references may be asked for)** One tip: every interview is already a sales exercise. Take the lead, ask your questions and tell us why we should pick you. *If you've read this far, you're probably very interested in the role and/or Vizzia. We'd like to hear from you even if you feel you don't check every box.*
