Essential Duties: Spiritual Formation: Intentionally provide opportunities for staff to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus. • Participate in opportunities for growing deeper in your relationship with Jesus. Exhibit a joyful, empathetic and optimistic attitude and faith in Christ. • With direction from supervisor, develop an annual personal spiritual growth plan. • Foster and engage in a culture where the spiritual formation of administrative volunteers is a priority and a responsibility for all members of the department. • Actively contribute in administration department prayer and devotional times, as well as all camp staff worship and prayer times. Interpersonal Relationships: Help build relationships that reflect the character of God with guests, staff, vendors and neighbors to foster healthy community. • Build relationships that reflect the character of God with guests, staff, vendors and neighbors to foster healthy community. • Maintain healthy relationships with administrative department, serving wholeheartedly alongside other members of the team. • Assist other departments with administrative tasks as needed • Partner with summer assigned teams and seek to help them with ministry goals while at camp. • Assist with leadership of summer volunteers serving in the camp office. Attentive Hospitality: Equip servant leaders who anticipate and respond to the needs of our guests, staff and vendors, through Christ-like service. • Demonstrate a posture of service that anticipates guest needs and responds with professionalism through intentional decisions and systems. • Offer hospitality to all camp guests, whether in-person, over the telephone or in writing • Assist with administration of reservation systems as directed by Administrative Manager • Engage in selection, communication and arrival logistics for summer guests, including volunteers, adult guests, medical volunteers and summer interns. • Maintain professional written and verbal communication to serve staff, guests and vendors at camp Comprehensive Stewardship: Manage with integrity the finances, people, buildings and equipment that have been entrusted to our ministry. • Exemplify a posture of financial stewardship and integrity • Model and lead a posture of comprehensive stewardship of the camping administration department to administrative volunteers and interns. • Exemplify continued stewardship of time, personal integrity, service, spiritual devotion, compassion, work ethic and commitment to the ministry. • Develop skills needed to act on behalf of the Administrative Manager in all aspects of the camp accounting process, including collection and reconciliation of petty cash accounts • Assist with monthly financial/statistical reports as directed by administrative manager • Manage office supplies and maintain office cleanliness and organization; work with vendors to secure cost-effective solutions to high-demand items; coordinate with other departments to streamline office supplies orders Talent Development: Through a consistent and accountable evaluation process, we identify and provide opportunities for staff in continuing education, leadership development, career-pathing and cross-training. • Demonstrate a desire to grow through engagement in the Individual Development Plan process and participation in training and development opportunities. • Intentionally pursue opportunities personal growth and development. • Develop understanding of operations in order to serve in Administrative Manager’s absence. Qualifications and Experience Required For The Job: • Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience. • Fluency with Microsoft Office applications, and an ability to learn and use all Young Life internal systems • Demonstrate understanding of Young Life ministry, strategy, and mission • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Compelling desire to help people. • Positive attitude and shows initiative. • Ability to manage time of self and others. • Ability to find answers to questions. • Able to perform under stress, noise and interruptions. Notes: Young Life is a relational ministry. Staff must be able to convey a sense of Christ-like hospitality and concern for guests and staff. Responding to the unexpected needs of a guest in a prompt and professional manner is important. All staff members are expected to represent Young Life positively and professionally within the community and be able to work with and minister to the volunteer high school and college-age young people who attend our camp. Job Specific Working Conditions: Trail West Lodge is looking for an Administrative Assistant who will serve as the primary Family Camp Booking Registrar, guiding families from their initial reservation through their entire stay at camp. This role is at the heart of our guest experience, coordinating reservations for more than 440 families each year. The ideal candidate is highly organized, enjoys building relationships, communicates with warmth and professionalism, and excels at managing multiple details while following through on every commitment. About Trail West Lodge: Trail West Lodge exists to provide guests with the most meaningful family vacation ever. The Trail West team is looking for high capacity and fun-seeking ministers of the gospel who desire to serve on camp staff. As a staff at Trail West Lodge, we prioritize professional, personal and spiritual development for all team members & we are committed to providing a high level of hospitality to all our guests. As Young Life's only nationally run family camp, we host families from all over the country during the summer, with facilities and programs designed to invite guests into a deeper relationship with Jesus and greater involvement with the Mission of Young Life. During the spring and fall, we host Christian retreats and conferences from churches and para-church organizations. We are a seasonal operation, open from March - November and using the winter months as project season. Trail West is located just outside of in Buena Vista, Colorado. Though Buena Vista is a small town, it has all your necessities and a lot of outdoor activities to explore. Compensation In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is outlined below. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the United States. The anticipated hourly salary for this position is $18.25 depending on relevant education and experience. This position is eligible for Young Life’s Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA). This is a geographically based pay adjustment meant to compensate staff for residing in an area that is more expensive than the national average. In Buena Vista, COLA is at 7%. In addition to the COLA, this position is eligible for a monthly housing stipend. This position is eligible for Young Life benefits.
