The Casual Teaching Community enables the School to access suitable and experienced individuals for casual employment opportunities across a broad range of business areas at short notice, subject to the following: You will be engaged as and when required, and on an ad hoc and/or intermittent basis. The Opportunity The School of Arts, WSU, invites expressions of interest from people who are interested in casual academic work which will involve lectures, tutorials, workshops and marking in the Bachelor of Music program. Core and Major areas of Music include Music Performance, Composition, Music Production, Music Theory, Musicology, Arranging Music, Music technology Intercultural Music Practice, and Music Analysis. For further information on program structures refer to the University Handbook at https://hbook.westernsydney.edu.au/programs/bachelor-music/ Eligibility To be considered for casual employment, applicants must meet the following criteria: A postgraduate qualification (minimum Master’s degree; PhD or equivalent professional experience desirable) Recent and relevant teaching experience at tertiary level and/or evidence of teaching capability Relevant expertise in at least one of the following areas Music Performance, Composition, Music Production, Music Theory, Musicology, Arranging Music, Music technology Intercultural Music Practice, and Music Analysis. Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment Academic Staff Agreement: For casual rates of pay please refer to Schedule 2 of the Academic Staff Agreement.
