CCMS Outreach Caseworker - Edmonton

Job description

The Agency The John Howard Society of Alberta is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting effective, just, and humane responses to the causes and consequences of crime. Through advocacy, community education, research, prevention initiatives, and reintegration services, we work alongside individuals, families, and communities to enhance public safety and support positive life changes. Guided by a belief in dignity, inclusion, and second chances, we help people overcome barriers, build stability, and successfully reintegrate into their communities. The Program The Community Case Management and Supervision (CCMS) program is part of the Canada Border Services Agency’s (CBSA) Alternative to Detention (ATD) framework. The primary objective of the program is to supervise individuals in the community who remain cooperative with the CBSA but who may lack a bondsperson, or who require social service support in addition to a bondsperson to mitigate risk upon release into the community. Case management principles contribute to the management of that risk through the facilitation and coordination of necessary services. Those services are documented in a supervision plan, based on a comprehensive assessment of the client’s risk and needs. This provides for appropriate monitoring to allow for the release and supervision of an individual in the community.
