Job description

Functions: Undertake strategic and operational planning in collaboration with senior management and appropriate stakeholders Develop and maintain an effective organizational structure to support performance objectives that reflect industry and market requirements Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with government agencies, other organizations, communities, industry representatives, media and other stakeholders Ensure efficient utilization of financial resources Provide strong and effective leadership to the work force; motivate and inspire employees Ensure effective communication of the company’s strategy, objectives and performance to create a positive corporate image Report to the board on timely basis, all relevant information regarding company operations Drive business growth and performance improvement Requirements: Minimum of a 1st degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with an MBA or a relevant Masters degree Minimum of 15 years industry experience with at least 5 years experience at senior management level Thorough understanding of electric utility-related issues from concept to commissioning such as land acquisition, site permitting, environmental clearances etc Experience in developing long-term business plans and strategies, presenting investment proposals at the board level and managing a multi-disciplinary team of professionals Experience in negotiating commercial contracts, financing agreements with lenders, and greenfield power projects will be an added advantage The role: The CEO provides the strategic vision, planning and operational leadership and is responsible for developing and implementing high-level strategies, making corporate decisions and managing the overall operations and resources of the company.
