Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Job description

**About us** Traditional banking has never really given people control over their financial life. Satispay exists to change that: to **empower people through finance**. That means making financial services easy and accessible for millions of users. We started with payments, then benefits, investing, cards... and we’re not done. Not even close. Same logic every time: find a real problem, solve it properly, then look for the next one. The destination? To build the most loved financial platform in the world. Getting there takes leaders who own outcomes across teams, not just tasks, and set the tone for refusing the “someone else will fix this” culture. If that's how you lead, you'll fit right in. **What you'll be doing** As our Chief Operating Officer (COO), you'll scale and optimise Satispay’s operational foundations, driving operational excellence across all functions to support our hyper-growth trajectory across Europe. Here's what that looks like in practice: - **Strategic Operations** - Direct daily operational activities to align with long-term company objectives, ensuring seamless execution across teams. - **Process Optimization** - Identify operational bottlenecks, standardize workflows, and implement scalable processes that enhance overall business efficiency. - **Cross-Functional Leadership** - Align operations with Product, Tech, Business Development, and Compliance to guarantee seamless end-to-end execution. - **Performance & Metrics** - Define, track, and drive key operational KPIs, establishing robust reporting frameworks to ensure data-driven decision-making. - **Scalability & Infrastructure** - Build resilient operational systems and frameworks capable of supporting rapid user acquisition and geographical expansion. You will lead and mentor high-performing teams, collaborate closely with peers with structured communication and transparency, demonstrating a commitment to integrity and ownership. **Who we're looking for** You'll take on one of the hardest challenges at our scale: scaling operational complexity, maintaining flawless execution across multi-country operations, and building resilient systems that seamlessly adapt to rapid expansion. We're not looking for a caretaker of an existing setup. We're looking for someone who has built or transformed a function, made hard calls under pressure, and can say "here's the decision, here's why, here's what happened." - **Leadership Experience** - Proven executive experience (COO, VP Ops, or similar senior leadership role) in a fast-growing scale-up, tech, or fintech environment. - **Operational Track Record** - Demonstrated success in designing, scaling, and managing complex operational processes at scale. - **Strategic & Analytical Mindset** - Strong ability to turn complex business challenges into clear, actionable operational frameworks using data-driven insights. - **Team Leadership** - Track record of building, scaling, and empowering high-performing operational teams with an empathetic yet results-oriented approach. - **Execution Focus** - Strong ownership mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving in high-stakes, fast-paced environments. - **Travel Flexibility** - Expected travel up to 50% between Luxembourg and Milan. We recognise that exceptional leadership comes in many forms. If you believe you have the vision, experience, and drive to help us shape the future of money, we encourage you to apply. We value the unique perspectives and strengths that exceptional leaders bring, even if their experience doesn't align with every listed requirement. **Why this is your place** This is a unique opportunity to leverage your experience and leadership to make a profound impact on a company poised for significant future growth. We operate on a principle of reciprocity: significant strategic impact are met with meaningful rewards and opportunities. - **Own outcomes that reach millions**. Lead functions where the results show up directly in the experience of 6.5M+ people and the businesses they pay every day. - **Operate in high-growth.** You'll make high-stakes calls without waiting for perfect information, in an environment that changes fast as we launch and scale new products. - **Significant equity participation.** Directly share in Satispay's success through a competitive Stock Option Plan designed to reward leadership and contribution to company growth and raise the bar for collective success. - **Lead exceptional teams.** Build, mentor, and collaborate with high-performing teams in a culture of ownership, collective success, and continuous improvement fueled by feedback. You will learn from the best and lead alongside founders who are hands-on. **CareAbout: how we support your impact** We move fast, and evolution never stops. It’s a fun ride, but it can be challenging. To make sure our people truly thrive, we’re committed to making their lives easier, both in the office and out in the world. That’s why we created CareAbout: - ❤️ **Health:** private insurance for you and your family, psychological support with Serenis, mental health workshops. - 💰 **Financial resources:** Stock Option Plan, meal vouchers, relocation support if you’re moving countries. - ⚙️ **Growth and development:** professional development programs, internal mobility, language courses with Preply. - 🌱 **Flexibility:** unlimited PTO, hybrid working policy\*, flexible working hours. - 👨‍👩‍👧 **Family:** enhanced parental leave, additional leave for child sickness. *\*We embrace three days per week in-office (Tuesday and Thursday + 1 of your choice), with the option to request extra remote time.* **Equal opportunity employer** At Satispay, we're proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
