In this pivotal role, you will oversee the technical design and delivery of complex data center projects, providing strategic direction and ensuring excellence in infrastructure planning and execution. You will lead cross-functional teams, drive innovation in data center design, and ensure all projects meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and efficiency. Lead the design and technical planning of large-scale data center projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and industry best practices Develop comprehensive technical specifications, architectural designs, and project documentation using industry-standard tools and methodologies Manage and mentor a team of technical professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development Analyze complex technical requirements and translate them into actionable design solutions that optimize performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness Ensure all data center designs comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations, including ISO certifications and UPTIME Institute Tier classifications Collaborate with stakeholders, clients, and external partners to understand project requirements and deliver solutions that exceed expectations Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure efficient delivery and optimal utilization of resources Conduct technical reviews and quality assurance checks to maintain design integrity and adherence to specifications Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in data center design and infrastructure management Provide technical guidance on cooling systems, power distribution, network infrastructure, and security implementations Qualifications 18+ years of professional experience in data center design, infrastructure planning, or related technical fields 5+ years of demonstrated leadership and management experience, with proven ability to lead and develop technical teams Advanced proficiency in CAD software, BIM tools, and data center design platforms Strong knowledge of data center technologies, including cooling systems, power distribution, UPS systems, and network infrastructure Expertise in data center standards and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, ISO 14644, UPTIME Institute Tier standards, local building codes) Proven track record of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects on time and within budget Detailed knowledge of security protocols, fire safety systems, and environmental controls in data center environments Preferred: Experience with data center projects in India or South Asia region Preferred: Familiarity with sustainable and green data center design practices Additional Information Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate technical challenges and develop innovative solutions Strong project management capabilities with experience using project management software and methodologies Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all organizational levels At AECOM, we are committed to maintaining a secure and trustworthy recruitment process and take any fraudulent hiring activity seriously.
