As a **Civil Engineering Intern** on our Transportation Design team, you’ll take on meaningful work that directly impacts the communities we serve. Based out of our newly relocated **Des Moines, IA** office in the heart of downtown, this **Summer 2027** opportunity offers hands-on experience with real transportation infrastructure projects, one-on-one mentorship from seasoned professionals, and the chance to contribute to innovative design solutions that make a difference.
### Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of roadway and transportation design plans using OpenRoads Designer and other design software
- Support the development of construction documents, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Perform basic engineering calculations and data analysis
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other interns on multidisciplinary projects
- Participate in team meetings, site visits, and client presentations as appropriate
### Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
### Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Civil Engineering experience through an internship or co-op
- MicroStation Open Roads Designer (ORD) or AutoCAD Civil3D experience
