Commissioning Engineer

Job description

What will you be doing? You’ll be part of a technically skilled, customer-focused team. Your job will be to commission electrical installations on board ships – whether new builds or refits. This includes checking connections, programming, functional testing, and parameter adjustments. You’ll also get involved in service or warranty projects, supporting clients with technical issues. Sometimes you’ll work independently, other times as part of a team – but always with responsibility and attention to quality. What can you expect at Alewijnse? At Alewijnse, we grow together. We support your continuous development – both professional and personal – in a dynamic environment where every colleague counts and is encouraged to contribute. Beyond the work itself, we value time spent together: we organize social events (Children’s Day, Christmas), sports competitions (cross runs, football, fishing), and take part in community initiatives. What describes you the best? If you’re disciplined, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a dynamic team, you’re already aligned with how we work at Alewijnse. We’re looking for colleagues who: • hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnics, or Automation; • have experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Schneider, Wago) or configuring and testing radio-navigation equipment; • have worked in the marine electrical field and can carry out commissioning, service, and maintenance for electrical and industrial systems; • can handle both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks; • have at least B2-level English proficiency; • are analytical, organized, and pay strong attention to detail; • are motivated to grow, no matter where they are in their career journey. Are you into technology and travel? At Alewijnse, we connect people, teams, and electrical systems on ships around the world. We’re looking for a Commissioning Engineer – responsible, curious, and ready to work directly on site. Sounds like you?
