Job description
Our employer partner, a non-profit organization supporting communities across British Columbia , is currently looking to add an experienced Community Builder – Tri-Cities to their team! Job Overview: The Community Builder will support community connections and resident leadership through a neighbourhood-based engagement initiative. Working directly with residents, volunteers, businesses, and community groups, the successful candidate will help develop resident-led projects and create more connected, inclusive, and resilient neighbourhoods. This is a part-time position of 21 hours per week , scheduled to end on March 31, 2027 . Candidates must live in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, or Port Moody, British Columbia . The position pays $30.87 per hour . Key Responsibilities: Build relationships with residents, community organizations, volunteers, and local businesses. Support residents in developing sustainable, community-led initiatives. Promote microgrant opportunities and help residents develop and implement project ideas. Organize community events, outreach activities, and volunteer engagement opportunities. Represent the organization at community events and through social media. Identify barriers to participation and support equitable community engagement. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. At least one year of community-based employment or volunteer experience. Strong connections within the Tri-Cities community. Experience organizing community projects, events, or resident-led initiatives. Strong relationship-building, communication, and organizational skills. Comfortable using social media and working independently. Flexible availability for occasional evening and weekend activities. Ability to work remotely and travel throughout the local community.
