Help communities shape the future of social connection across Derbyshire
At Rethink Mental Illness, we believe communities already hold many of the strengths, ideas and solutions needed to improve wellbeing and reduce isolation. We're looking for a skilled and passionate Community Voice Network Facilitator to help bring people together, amplify local voices and ensure communities are at the heart of designing and delivering services.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of Community Voice Networks across Derbyshire, working alongside residents, community groups, public sector partners and people with lived experience to tackle loneliness, strengthen social connections and drive meaningful change.
About the role
As Community Voice Network Facilitator, you'll use an asset-based approach to identify, build and strengthen resilient community networks. You'll create opportunities for people to influence local priorities, shape services and help determine how community funding is used.
You'll lead the development and coordination of Community Voice Networks within your locality, ensuring communities have a genuine say in:
• Local social connection priorities.
• The use of Community Involvement Funding.
• The design and delivery of activities.
• The evaluation of service impact. Working closely with residents, voluntary groups, health partners and local forums, you'll help create stronger, more connected communities where everyone's voice matters.
What you'll be doing
You'll:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community groups, residents and service partners across Derbyshire.
• Facilitate Community Voice Networks, forums, meetings and engagement activities.
• Ensure underrepresented communities and people at greater risk of isolation are actively included.
• Map existing community assets, networks and engagement opportunities.
• Work alongside Locality Health and Wellbeing Partnerships and other key stakeholders.
• Support co-design and shared decision-making with communities.
• Lead, coach and support Community Builders and Community Listeners.
• Support volunteer recruitment, development and engagement activities.
• Help oversee the Community Involvement Fund and local grant activity.
• Monitor outcomes, evaluate impact and produce high-quality reports for commissioners and stakeholders.
• Deputise for the Contract Manager when required.
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who is passionate about community development and skilled at bringing people together around a common purpose.
You'll have:
• Experience working in communities and engaging diverse groups.
• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
• Confidence facilitating workshops, meetings, consultations and forums.
• Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and organisations.
• An understanding of loneliness, social isolation, wellbeing and community development.
• Experience supporting co-production and community-led approaches.
• The ability to influence, motivate and inspire others.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience monitoring outcomes and producing reports.
• A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.
• A full UK driving licence and access to transport.
It would be great if you can also:
• Speak an additional community language.
