Compliance Associate - Bank Sponsorship & Product Expansion

Job description

## **About the Company** Rain is the global stablecoin payments platform for enterprises, neobanks, platforms, developers, and AI agents. Our technology allows partners to move, store, and use stablecoins instantly and compliantly through global payment cards, rewards, on/offramps, wallets, and cross-border rails. As both a Visa and Mastercard Principal Member, Rain issues cards that work at more than 175 million merchant locations in over 220 countries and territories. Built natively for stablecoins and trusted by more than 100 organizations worldwide, Rain delivers secure, scalable infrastructure that makes money move freely and instantly around the world. You will have the opportunity to deliver massive impact at a hypergrowth company backed by some of the top investors in fintech, crypto, and SaaS. In January 2026, we closed a $250M Series C led by ICONIQ, valuing Rain at $1.95B, with Sapphire Ventures, Dragonfly, Bessemer Venture Partners, Galaxy Ventures, FirstMark, Lightspeed, Norwest, and Endeavor Catalyst also participating. If you're curious, bold, and excited to help shape a borderless financial future, we'd love to talk. ## **Our Ethos** We believe in an open and flat structure. You will be able to grow into the role that most aligns with your goals. Our team members at all levels have the freedom to explore ideas and impact the roadmap and vision of our company. **The Role** We are hiring a Compliance Associate to support our bank sponsorship relationships and the compliance workstreams behind new product and market expansion. You will sit at the center of Product, Engineering, Legal, and our sponsor banks: translating partnership agreements and regulatory requirements into concrete product requirements, preparing the documentation our bank partners rely on, and helping launches move quickly without compromising on compliance. This is a high-visibility, execution-heavy role for someone equally comfortable reading a bank partnership agreement and sitting in a product spec review. You will see products from concept through launch and own the compliance record that makes each launch defensible. **What You'll Do** • Serve as a day-to-day compliance point of contact for sponsor bank partners — responding to diligence requests, preparing materials, and tracking open items to closure. • Review new products, features, and market expansions for compliance impact, and translate applicable regulations and bank partner requirements into clear, actionable product requirements. • Build and maintain compliance documentation: requirement matrices, policies and procedures, launch checklists, control descriptions, and risk assessments. • Read and interpret bank partnership agreements, network rules, and regulatory guidance, and flag where product designs create obligations or gaps. • Partner with Product and Engineering from the start of the design process so compliance requirements are built in rather than retrofitted. • Support disclosure, marketing, and UX reviews for accuracy and consistency with consumer protection expectations (UDAAP, Reg E, Reg Z, Reg CC). • Support bank partner oversight activities, audits, exams, and third-party risk assessments — including evidence collection, remediation tracking, and follow-up. • Monitor regulatory and network developments relevant to card issuing, BaaS, and stablecoin-linked payments, and summarize the practical implications for the business. • Track compliance deliverables and deadlines across multiple concurrent launches and stakeholders, escalating risks early and clearly. **What We’re Looking For** • 4+ years experience in compliance, risk, or regulatory roles within banking, fintech, or payments. • Working knowledge of the bank sponsorship / Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) model and third-party risk management expectations. • Familiarity with core consumer financial regulations (e.g., BSA/AML, UDAAP, Reg E, Reg Z, Reg CC, EFTA, GLBA). • Ability to read and interpret bank partnership agreements, regulatory guidance, and compliance requirements, and translate them into clear, actionable product requirements. • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills — comfortable working directly with Product, Engineering, Legal, and bank partners. • Excellent written communication skills, including experience creating compliance documentation (requirement matrices, policies, checklists). • Detail-oriented with strong project management and organizational skills; comfortable tracking multiple deliverables and deadlines across stakeholders. • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess compliance risk and prioritize issues. **Bonus Attributes** • Prior experience working directly with a sponsor bank or bank partnership team. • Experience at a fintech, neobank, or payments company. • Familiarity with product and project management tools. • Professional certification such as CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager), CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist), or similar. • Experience supporting bank exams, audits, or third-party risk assessments. • Exposure to stablecoins, digital assets, or cross-border payments. ## **Things that enable a fulfilling, healthy and happy experience at Rain:** **Unlimited time off** 🌴 Unlimited vacation can be daunting, so we require Rainmakers to take 10 days minimum for themselves. **Flexible working** ☕ We support a flexible workplace – work from home, come into an office, or both. We want everyone to work in an environment where they're their most confident and productive selves. New Rainmakers receive a stipend to set up a comfortable home workspace. **Easy to access benefits** 🧠 For US Rainmakers, we cover 95% of your health, dental, and vision plan costs and 90% for your dependents, plus a 100% company-subsidized life insurance plan. **Retirement goals**💡 Plan for the future with confidence. We offer a 401(k) with a 4% company match. **Equity plan** 📦 Every Rainmaker gets an equity option plan so we all benefit from our success. **Health and Wellness** 📚 High performance begins from within. Rainmakers receive a monthly stipend to be used for eligible health and wellness spending like gym memberships/fitness classes, massages, acupuncture - whatever recharges you! **In-office meals** 🍜 Rainmakers working from the office enjoy lunch and dinner on us, covered with a DoorDash credit. **Team summits** ✨ Summits play an important role at Rain. Time together helps us build relationships and a common destiny. Expect team and company offsites, both domestic and international.
