We have developed a ground-breaking medical device for the diagnosis and treatment of the most common heart rhythm disorder, atrial fibrillation – which can cause stroke, heart failure, and other heart-related complications. Kardium’s mission is to deliver the best treatment for atrial fibrillation. To achieve this, we have developed The Globe® Pulsed Field System – we have a fantastic technical team that has developed a product with strong, unique, and customer-valued differentiators versus other solutions on the market. We have built connections with key opinion leaders who are already using the Globe System and are helping to tell our story. We have obtained FDA and Health Canada approval and officially begun the commercial launch of the Globe® Pulsed Field System. This is a pivotal and exciting time in our journey, as we bring this life-changing technology to patients! Please note, this opportunity is a hybrid work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC. What You Will Experience You will engage in activities that develop practical and transferable skills such as: • Planning, facilitating, and executing operational projects using continuous improvement tools • Working to continuously improve processes both on the production floor as well as collaborating across multiple business functions such as logistics and planning • Support the operations team to benchmark processes, develop process flow maps, and conduct simulation studies to identify opportunities and constraints • Undertake cycle time studies for various operational tasks • Identify and lead safety improvement projects in operational areas • Analyse data, develop dashboards to support the implementation of operational KPIs • Design and deliver training content for operations teams to build Continuous Improvement capability • Increase awareness of Continuous Improvement principles across operations by delivering workshops, team sessions, and practical hands-on support • Learn strategies such as 5S to improve efficiency on the production floor • Support creation of metric and dashboards to help drive actions and projects What You Bring to the Team Our Kardium team is smart, creative, and passionate about creating cutting-edge medical devices to help improve people’s lives. Compensation Compensation for this role is based on multiple factors including your current year of study, the number of previous co-op terms completed, as well as market data. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada. Relocation Support • Relocation Allowance: We offer a relocation allowance to support out-of-province students moving to Burnaby BC for their Co-op/Intern term • Community Before Day One: Out-of-province students make up about 30% of each cohort.
