Contract Brand Copy Manager

Job description

## About Bobbie Bobbie makes European-style organic infant formula manufactured end-to-end in the U.S., because we believe every parent deserves to feed their baby with confidence, without judgment and without compromise. No mystery ingredients. No shortcuts. Just clean, thoughtfully made formula that parents can trust. But Bobbie has never been just a formula company. When the 2022 national infant formula shortage left parents across the country unable to feed their babies, we closed our storefront to new customers rather than leave a single existing family without formula. We went to Washington. We got loud. And we opened our Heath, Ohio manufacturing facility to make sure something like that could never happen again. That's who we are, and that's what you'd be joining. ## Bobbie for Change Our advocacy arm, Bobbie for Change, exists because making great formula isn't enough if the systems around parenthood are still broken. We fight for paid federal parental leave, push for legislation to prevent future formula shortages, advocate for feeding equity, and support families navigating impossible situations, including donating formula to parents impacted by breast and gynecologic cancers through the Bobbie Breasties program. We're a company that genuinely believes becoming a parent makes you an activist. The people who work here feel that too. **The Role** This is a 4–5 month contract role, with the possibility to extend, covering a member of our team while she's on maternity leave. (We don't just advocate for paid parental leave, we make sure our people can take it.) We're looking for a seasoned copy leader who can step in quickly, own Bobbie's brand voice, and lead our writers from day one. Do you live for a tagline? Agonize over the perfect ad script? Do oxford commas give you a little thrill? Bobbie is looking for a Brand Copy Manager to develop, own, and hone a differentiated brand voice across every touchpoint. **You:** Are obsessed with words, character creation, and the power of storytelling. Thrive on writing as much as you do on editing. Get excited about crafting a compelling brand narrative and editing clear messaging sources of truth. Love working across creative and marketing teams to ensure Bobbie's voice is distinct, consistent, and evolving in all the right ways. **We:** Are a growing team of passionate creatives and marketers on a mission to shake the stigma that surrounds parents' feeding choices. The ideal candidate has the strategic mind of a messaging architect and the hands-on ability to execute across platforms—particularly video scripting (oh, lots of it). You will be responsible for leading messaging strategy across marketing and creative, maintaining and enforcing a brand copy style guide, and ensuring that Bobbie's voice is engaging, clear, and true to our mission. ## **What You Will Accomplish** - **Develop & Own Brand Voice:** Refine and reinforce Bobbie's unique voice across all channels, ensuring it remains consistent, compelling, and adaptable for different audiences and platforms. - **Manage a Messaging Ecosystem:** Maintain and evolve a brand style guide, voice guidelines, and messaging sources of truth to ensure copy alignment across the entire business, including outside partners. - **Write & Edit Across Channels:** Lead messaging strategy and execution across video, paid, email, platform, packaging, campaigns, and more—adapting tone and style as needed. - **Script Video Content:** Work closely with video editors and animators to write and refine high-volume video scripts for marketing, product storytelling, and brand campaigns. - **Collaborate Cross-Functionally:** Partner with marketing, creative, and product teams to align messaging with overall business and brand strategy. - **Ensure Strategic Messaging Alignment:** Keep key stakeholders informed and aligned on messaging priorities and frameworks. ## **What We Would Like You to Have** - 10+ years of experience in brand copywriting (CPG, eCommerce, and startup experience preferred). - A portfolio of compelling brand, product, or social campaigns you concepted and wrote end to end—including video scripts—that demonstrates an ability to distill complex ideas into digestible, memorable narratives. - Experience building and managing a brand style guide and leading messaging consistency across a company. - Skilled editing chops, an impeccable eye for detail, and an ability to elevate the work of other writers. - A collaborator and communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment and can seamlessly work with art directors, marketers, and leadership. - A self-starter who takes ownership of projects, sees around corners, and is always thinking about how to make messaging sharper, smarter, and more compelling. ## **You're Inspired by Our Core Values** - **Be Radical** – We are change makers, rule breakers and stigma shakers. We are unapologetically bold and use our megaphone for good. - **Nurture the Tension** – Parenthood is full of healthy tension, and so is building a company. We embrace the unknowns, practice humility and are a culture of learners. - **Deliver Ounce by Ounce** – Our customers have entrusted us to feed their babies. We lose sleep over the details, so they don't have to. - **Don't Assume** – We embrace our unique perspectives, withhold judgment, and find beauty in the paths that brought us all to Bobbie. Our strength is celebrating each other and our collective voice. ## **Compensation** This is a contract position. The hourly rate range for this position is $75-80/hr. At Bobbie, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive company. We seek to create a culture where everyone can belong because we believe that people do their best work when they can show up every day as their authentic selves. We welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives. Bobbie is an equal opportunity employer. We do not make hiring or employment decisions on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status or genetic information, in compliance with applicable federal, state and local law.
