Control Room Operator - Rotherham
Shift Pattern: 4on 4off rolling rota as follows, 2 day shifts (6:30–18:30) followed by 2 night shifts (18:30-06:30) followed by 4 days off
Salary: £37,455.60 per annum
The Control Room Operator (SCADA) is responsible for operating the MBT Plant. You will control flow and processing of waste by utilising remote control overhead gantry cranes and refining equipment while ensuring health & safety and environmental compliance, whilst contributing to the continuous improvement in productivity, plant availability and the requirements of sub products produced.
Key responsibilities:
· Operate and monitor all MBT control systems.
· Optimise crane movements including waste placement and Refinement throughput.
· Diagnosing operating problems and undertaking necessary corrective action.
· Coordinating with the Engineering team, providing feedback on breakdowns to prioritise critical incidents.
· Carry out site fly treatments and review fly monitoring data in line with the site fly management plan
· Stock control & accurate reporting of contract & non contract waste
· Providing accurate and detailed records of all plant operations, settings and stoppages.
· Logging crane data and downtime to produce weekly pareto.
· Always maintain safe operations of the site.
· Monitoring and responding to fires, alarms and faults on the site fire system.
· Working towards daily, weekly and monthly KPI’s.
· Adhering to health & safety and environmental legislation and Company policies to ensure defined standards and best practice are implemented while remaining compliant with the site environmental permit and PFI contract.
· Implementing and ensuring compliance with all company policies, processes and procedures.
· Comply with changes to company standards and legislation
· Providing light maintenance of equipment including housekeeping and cleaning tasks
· Deputising for MBT supervisor as required
· Become a site senior approved person (SAP) being responsible for site isolations and permits including contractor control.
Essential criteria:
· Experience of SCADA systems or position of similar responsibility ideally in a process plant
· Proven track record of working to clearly defined KPIs
· Proven track record of delivering continuous improvement within an operational environment
· Implementation of new processes and developments
· Development and implementation of data capture and recording systems
· Willingness to learn and undertake both internal and external training on environmental, health and safety and any other training deemed necessary.
· Good understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance
· Good people skills; be able to communicate at all levels throughout the company and externally
· Knowledge of MRF operations
