**Tax - Manager** **Overview** CFGI is seeking a Tax Manager to join its growing UK tax team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of UK corporate tax services, including tax reporting, compliance, governance and advisory. You will work directly with clients and senior members of the UK tax team, supporting a diverse client base that includes UK publicly listed companies, US-headquartered multinationals, and UK privately owned and private equity-backed groups. As part of a growing and entrepreneurial team, you will also have opportunities to contribute to business development and collaborate with colleagues across CFGI’s UK and US service areas. **Roles & Responsibilities** - Lead the delivery of UK tax reporting services for a diverse portfolio of clients, including UK-listed companies, US-headquartered multinationals and privately owned and private equity-backed groups. - Prepare UK entity and group tax numbers in accordance with IFRS and UK GAAP, including relevant consolidation and GAAP-to-GAAP adjustments. - Advise clients on tax reporting processes, GAAP conversion projects and tax considerations associated with IPO readiness. - Lead the preparation and submission of UK corporation tax returns, managing day-to-day client interactions and ensuring information is obtained accurately and on a timely basis. - Manage tax compliance processes with a focus on quality, efficiency and cost-effective delivery. - Support clients with tax governance matters, including tax strategy, risk management and controls. - Deliver corporate tax advisory work arising from compliance and other client engagements, including loss planning and utilisation, interest deductibility, and the tax implications of trade and asset transfers. - Support cash tax modelling, group simplification, tax due diligence and tax structuring assignments. - Respond to and manage HMRC tax enquiries on behalf of clients. - Identify opportunities to expand the scope of services provided to existing and prospective clients. - Support the origination of new tax opportunities, including proposal development, client meetings and pitches. - Collaborate with colleagues across CFGI’s UK and US service areas to identify and develop cross-service-line tax opportunities. - Work with the CFGI US tax team to support UK tax opportunities for US clients. **What you must have** - 6+ years of corporate tax experience. - ACA, ACCA, or CTA qualification. - Experience of UK corporate tax reporting and UK corporation tax compliance, including preparation and submission of UK tax returns. **What sets you apart** - Experience preparing UK entity and/or group tax numbers under IFRS and UK GAAP. - Strong technical understanding of UK corporate tax matters, including common tax adjustments such as capital allowances, other incentives, interest deductibility, hybrid mismatches and loss utilisation. - Experience managing HMRC tax enquiries. - Experience delivering corporate tax advisory work, including tax modelling, group simplification, tax due diligence or tax structuring. - Experience managing day-to-day client relationships and delivering work independently. - Experience contributing to proposals, pitches or other business development activities. - Experience working across multiple service lines or with colleagues from different technical backgrounds. **Nice to have** - Some or all of your corporate tax experience gained within a Big 4 firm. - Experience or knowledge of cross-border tax matters, including transfer pricing or country-by-country reporting. - Experience using Microsoft Excel and tax software. **Who thrives here** - You communicate clearly and confidently with clients and colleagues. - You are analytical, organised and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. - You take ownership and are comfortable working independently. - You approach problems practically and use sound reasoning to develop creative solutions. - You collaborate effectively with colleagues across different technical backgrounds and service lines. - You demonstrate integrity, accountability, flexibility and adaptability. - You are open to coaching and committed to continuous professional development. - You enjoy working in an entrepreneurial, growing environment and building strong professional relationships.
