Department Overview The Data & Insights Group utilizes data from across the Rakuten Group to rigorously measure the Return on Investment (ROI) of marketing initiatives and provide recommendations for budget optimization, driving profitability for the entire group. We are an essential function for the future of Rakuten’s marketing, moving beyond basic attribute data to create precise segments based on behavioral history and purchase intent. We design marketing initiatives to provide personalized experiences for every customer and share these best practices across the group. Position Details Key Responsibilities - Problem Solving through Data Analysis: Utilize Rakuten’s vast user data, behavioral logs, and advanced analytical environment (Big Query, Databricks, BI tools, etc.). - Effectiveness Validation: Calculate and verify the impact of new service launches (may include coordinating with external research). - Dashboard Design & Development: Use Big Query and BI tools (DOMO, Tableau, Looker, etc.) to process data and build automated, scalable KPI monitoring platforms. - Strategic Recommendations: Support ad-hoc data extraction and hypothesis testing; structure analysis results into compelling narratives for presentations to drive decision-making. - Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with marketing teams and developers to provide data-driven insights and support strategic initiatives. Mandatory Qualifications: - 3+ years of practical experience in data extraction, processing, and aggregation using SQL. - 3+ years of experience in data processing and dashboard development on Big Query using BI tools (Tableau, Looker, DOMO, etc.). - Ability to autonomously design hypotheses, structure analytical approaches, and solve business problems. - Experience in structuring analysis into compelling stories for reports and presentations. - Experience in collaborating with diverse stakeholders to provide data-driven recommendations. Desired Qualifications: - Practical experience in marketing data analysis (Campaign measurement, digital ad optimization, CRM analysis, etc.). - Business-level English proficiency. - Understanding of cookies and tracking technologies. - Conceptual understanding or practical experience with Generative AI, machine learning, and deep learning. - Experience in data analysis, visualization, or machine learning using Python or R. - Practical knowledge of statistics (mean, variance, population/sampling, hypothesis testing). - Knowledge and implementation experience with statistical models (logistic regression, clustering, factor analysis, etc.). - Experience in promoting dashboard usage or supporting data literacy/education for user departments. ［id:cmorec gmd］ #marketingdiv Languages: English (Overall - 3 - Advanced), Japanese (Overall - 4 - Fluent)
