Job description

This role supports the delivery of dermatology outpatient services at DMC Healthcare. The Healthcare Assistant will work under the supervision of Dermatology Nurses and Clinicians, providing essential support during clinics, assisting with patient preparation, maintaining clinical environments and ensuring high standards of patient care. The postholder will contribute to smooth clinic operations, uphold infection control standards and support the dermatology team in delivering safe, efficient and patient-centred services. **Role Summary** Provide essential support during dermatology clinics, assisting clinicians and nurses with patient care and clinic preparation. Prepare rooms, equipment and patients for consultations, minor procedures and treatments. Maintain a clean, safe and organised clinical environment and support administrative duties such as documentation, stock management and patient flow. Offer compassionate support to patients throughout their time in clinic. **Key Objectives/ Goals** - Support clinicians and nurses by preparing patients, clinical rooms and equipment. - Maintain high infection prevention standards and ensure safe clinic environments. - Assist with basic clinical tasks within defined competencies. - Provide excellent patient communication and support throughout the care process. - Contribute to smooth clinic flow through effective organisation and teamwork. - Support governance, audit and QI initiatives. **Reporting Line / Team Structure** Reports to the Dermatology Lead Nurse or Service Manager. Works closely with Dermatology Nurses, Dermatologists, Healthcare Assistants and administrative colleagues.
