Experience without limits—in your work, your growth, and your impact. **SUMMARY** Jack Morton is looking for a **Design Director** to join our team. Our ideal candidate has a history of developing award-winning Environmental Designs and has experience leading a team of designers. We are looking for someone with the ability to generate thoughtful design concepts that translate into compelling branded live experiences. Stage and event experience are a plus for this role. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities**include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned. The duties and responsibilities as outlined in this Job Description may be changed from time to time by the Corporation, as it deems necessary, without further notice to the Employee. - Design immersive, compelling 3D environments to house branded experiences - Present concepts to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner - Immerse yourself in the brand and audience to inspire your design - Be responsible, organized and accountable the work of your team - Understanding of materials, building techniques and construction drawings - Create control packages for estimation - Understand how to work within budgets and regulations - Ability to lead and mentor a team - Communicate feedback to team members in a constructive fashion - Collaborate within the Creative department and across the organization - Communicate with clarity, confidence, competence, professionalism and authenticity - Stay current with design trends and apply them to your work where relevant **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES** Directly supervises 1-5 non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. **Qualifications**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (Canadian Positions: Accommodations will be made, up to undue hardship, for employees that advise accommodation is required pursuant to the prohibited grounds of the human rights legislation.) **Education and/or Experience** BA or BFA in Industrial Design, Architecture, Scenic Design, or other relevant degree; or 10+ years relevant design and experiential marketing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. **Language Skills** Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. **Mathematical Skills** Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. **Reasoning Ability** Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. **Computer Skills** To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Dynamics Accounting software; Microsoft Office suite of software. **Other Skills and Abilities** - Experience with pharmaceutical clients/brands a plus - Strong communicator and dynamic presenter - Entrepreneurial and proactive - Passionate, ambitious, risk taker **Physical Demands**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
