In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the design phase of various engineering projects, ensuring they meet client requirements and industry standards. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop design solutions that are both practical and efficient, contributing to the successful execution of projects from concept through completion.The Design Project Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating design activities during the delivery phase of projects on behalf of the Client. The role ensures that all design packages are coordinated, compliant, buildable, and delivered in accordance with project requirements, program, budget, quality standards, and operational objectives.The Design Project Engineer acts as the interface between consultants, contractors, stakeholders, and the client delivery team to ensure timely resolution of design-related matters and successful project execution.ResponsibilitiesDesign Management & CoordinationManage and oversee the design development and coordination process during project delivery.Review and monitor consultant and contractor design submissions for compliance with client requirements, specifications, codes, and project objectives.Coordinate multidisciplinary design interfaces across architectural, structural, MEP, infrastructure, specialist systems, and operational requirements.Ensure design solutions are practical, buildable, cost-effective, and aligned with construction methodologies.Support the timely closure of RFIs, technical queries, design clarifications, and site issues.Project Delivery SupportWork closely with construction and commercial teams to ensure alignment between design, procurement, and construction activities.Monitor design progress against the project program and identify risks, delays, or coordination issues.Participate and lead in design workshops, technical meetings, and progress reviews with consultants and contractors.Assist in resolving technical and interface challenges during construction and installation phases.Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities where design input is required.Stakeholder ManagementCoordinate with internal and external client stakeholders (Including Formula 1), operators, end users, and external authorities to ensure requirements are incorporated into the design.Liaise with contractors, consultants, vendors, and specialist suppliers to ensure smooth delivery outcomes.Facilitate communication between all parties to drive efficient decision-making and issue resolution.Quality & ComplianceSupport design assurance and quality control processes throughout project execution.Review submissions, drawings, technical documentation as required.Ensure design changes are properly assessed, documented, and approved through formal change management processes.Reporting & DocumentationPrepare and maintain design tracking registers, interface logs, and technical review comments.Provide regular updates on design status, risks, key issues, and mitigation actions to the delivery leadership team.Maintain accurate records of design decisions, approvals, and coordination outcomes.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldMinimum of 10 years of experience in design engineering within the project management sectorProficiency in design and drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant simulation toolsStrong knowledge of engineering principles, design standards, and best practicesRequired immediately therefor someone that can commence immediately preferredProject Engineer – We don’t have a PD for this but someone between and Design Manager and Project Manager.Bright, driven, excellent communicator and delivery focused.Manager LevelExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detailEffective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teamsAbility to manage multiple design projects and meet deadlinesFamiliarity with industry codes, regulations, and quality assurance procedures
