Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the Patchman backend infrastructure
- Develop and maintain new product features, from design through implementation and testing
- Investigate and resolve complex issues reported by customers, digging deep into the codebase to identify root causes
- Operate and maintain a large fleet of dedicated servers, including API gateways, load balancers, and internal processing nodes
- Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines for efficient, automated delivery
- Write and maintain comprehensive unit/integration tests to ensure code quality
- Monitor performance and reliability of production systems, proactively identifying areas for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine architecture and contribute to technical direction
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Backend or DevOps Developer
- Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language
- Experience designing backend services, with a solid understanding of performance, concurrency, scalability, and reliability
- Strong Linux systems administration skills, including troubleshooting performance and resource issues, managing processes, networking, filesystems, systemd services, and analyzing system logs in production environments
- Hands-on experience building and running high-throughput data pipelines at scale using Apache Kafka, ClickHouse, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies
- Experience with SQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, and in-memory databases, such as Redis
- Strong understanding of different data storage paradigms, including relational, NoSQL, and in-memory key-value databases
- Practical experience with Docker and Docker Compose for local development and production deployments
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Experience working with monitoring systems
- Solid understanding of CI/CD best practices, including Git, automated testing, and deployment workflows
- Excellent debugging skills and the ability to investigate complex technical issues
- Analytical mindset and the ability to interpret metrics and user feedback to make data-driven decisions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Upper-intermediate spoken and written English
