Director, Applied AI and Operations

Job description

About Marvell Marvell’s semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities. At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead. Your Team, Your Impact Marvell's Enterprise AI group works at the center of the company's innovation engine, powering the silicon that powers the world. We partner with engineering and business leaders to solve complex problems, scale securely, and turn bold ideas into products that matter. At Marvell, we are moving from AI experimentation to enterprise-scale, agentic solutions that deliver measurable business impact. This next phase requires more than models or platforms — it requires production-grade AI applications that are accurate, governed, observable, and continuously improving through real-world usage. What You Can Expect The Director, Applied AI and Operations will lead the design, development, and operation of enterprise agentic applications that power intelligent workflows, decision support, and automation across the company. This role owns the end-to-end lifecycle of agentic solutions - from architecture and build through deployment and continuous improvement - while leveraging the shared evaluation, observability, and governance services provided by our enterprise AI platform. This is a hands-on leadership role. You will architect solutions, guide implementation, and build a team that delivers AI applications designed from day one for automation and continuous evaluation. Success is measured by solutions in production that operate reliably at scale, maintain accuracy over time, and deliver clear business ROI. In your first year, success looks like a set of production agentic solutions delivering measurable ROI and operating reliably with minimal manual oversight. Lead architecture and delivery of scalable, reusable agentic AI solutions aligned with enterprise AI platforms. Design agent workflows using Model Context Protocol (MCP), orchestration frameworks, and shared platform services - built for reuse, not pilots. Embed evaluation-by-design, leveraging standardized enterprise evaluation, governance, and observability services. Drive automation-first operations, including AI-powered monitoring, anomaly detection, and remediation. Partner with business leaders to translate problems into well-scoped agentic solutions, using human-in-the-loop only where risk or governance requires. Define and track solution-level metrics (adoption, accuracy, cost, business impact) and provide executive-ready ROI reporting. Lead hands-on tool evaluation and build reference implementations aligned to enterprise standards. Transition mature solutions to IT/Platform teams with clean operational handoff and accountability. Build and scale a lean Agentic Solutions Engineering team, setting strong engineering and quality standards. Act as a senior technical partner across AI Platform, Governance, Enablement, and IT teams. What We're Looking For 12–18 years in platform operations, DevOps, SRE, or AI/ML Ops roles. Proven experience owning both architecture and delivery of enterprise-scale platforms. Track record of building teams that ship and operate complex systems. Strong understanding of GenAI operational challenges (cost, latency, evaluation, governance). Experience influencing architecture without needing to be the primary coder. Ability to operate effectively in global, matrixed enterprise environments. Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Agentic & AI Platforms: Enterprise agentic platforms, MCP-based architectures, orchestration frameworks Evaluation & Governance (consumed services): Enterprise evaluation frameworks, accuracy scoring, audit services Observability & Ops: AI-driven monitoring, tracing, cost tracking, automated remediation Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, containerized services Integration & Delivery: APIs, workflow automation, CI/CD for AI applications Automation-first thinker who designs systems to operate themselves. Strong ownership mindset from design through sustained production. Pragmatic, quality-driven, and focused on business outcomes. Comfortable leveraging shared services rather than reinventing platforms. Builder of scalable systems and high-performing teams. This role is eligible to participate in Marvell's bonus and equity plans, including a new hire equity grant and annual equity refreshers, ensuring you are rewarded for your contributions and remain invested in the company's long-term success. Additional Compensation and Benefit Elements With competitive compensation and great benefits, you will enjoy our workstyle within an environment of shared collaboration, transparency, and inclusivity. We’re dedicated to giving our people the tools and resources they need to succeed in doing work that matters, and to grow and develop with us.
