Day - 08 Hour (United States of America) This is a Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley job. Locations Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley Job Summary This position provides leadership and administrative support to the system-wide strategy, planning, development and management of the Facilities and Engineering Management (F&EM) operations. Directs and oversees financial stewardship with an emphasis on providing efficient utilization of resources. Oversees the F&EM operations, which includes: Facilities & Engineering Maintenance, Space Planning and Facility Planning & Construction. Financial Establishes and approves annual and quarterly objectives and key results for the hospital based operational areas and executes action plans to achieve the results. Identifies and facilitates purchase of capital equipment. Demonstrates effectiveness in assisting departmental leaders with preparing their annual department budgets, addressing capital equipment, personnel, inventories, supplies, and other departmental costs; institutional priorities, and reimbursement constraints are considered in budget preparations. Development and creation of the operating budgets (gathers and evaluates financial and statistical information). Expenses are monitored and maintained in accordance with established budgets. Quality and Patient Safety Plans and executes quarterly reviews to ensure quality patient care and staff support needs are met. Develops QA metrics are developed and made visible to all staff and stakeholders. Qualifications of supervisory staff and operating staff satisfy the requirements of Federal and State regulations. The Departments operate within Federal and State Regulations: Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies and codes, including: The Joint Commission (TJC), Department of Health (DHS), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Responsible for the organization-wide process improvement of the Environment of Care Management program. Serve as the Safety Committee chair for the hospital and clinics. Serve as Chapter chair for The Joint Commission EOC chapter. Monitors compliance with all applicable external agency regulations and the Corporate Compliance program. Ensures compliance of all personnel to safety standards, Hazardous Materials Management program, Risk management/prevention and Infection prevention. Ensures departments and staff are operating with the requirements of Federal, State and JCAHO regulations and the outcome of JCAHO, State of California, or other surveys/inspections are satisfactory. Follows up on the recommendations or deficiencies resulting from a survey/inspection and works to resolve within the time frames established by the regulatory agency. Policies and Procedures Oversees that policies and procedures are developed and reviewed and address operational, intradepartmental, management, administrative, and regulatory responsibilities. Communication/Education Develops and fosters effective collaborative relationships with department staff, hospital departments and external stakeholders. Orientation program is developed to evaluate the competency of each new employee or confirm a current employee’s competency when assigned new responsibilities or testing. Continuing competency is assessed and maintained through performance reviews for staff and supervisors by individuals qualified to provide technical judgments’ regarding performance. Educational programs are made available to maintain staff proficiency and effectiveness: staff meetings, medical staff in- service education, hospital education and safety, and outside activities. Leadership Develops and fosters effective collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. Provides mentorship and feedback to departmental staff. Accountable to ensure staff evaluations and competency assessments are developed using established criteria. Ensures staff evaluations are compliant with Hospital policies. Promotes employee growth and development through effective leadership, communication, and use of resources. Ensures that staff are annually assessed for competency and performance that are compliant with the organizational values and job description requirements. Able to motivate and guide others to work hard by building a sense of teamwork and commitment within department and across organization. Includes clear communication of the SHC-VC C-I-Care Values. Provides leadership and shows initiative in development, implementation, and demonstration of new methods, procedures, and equipment and instruments. Participates in hospital-wide patient care and operational activities and daily conduct. Leads staff recruitment efforts. Selects personnel for employment within the department(s) including promotions. Ensures appropriate orientation to the department(s) and develops strategy to support employee engagement within the department. Mentors and develops staff. Represents Hospital brand in accordance with Hospitals’ Mission in all job-related settings. Includes responsibility to represent hospital at strategic meetings with community and customer stakeholders. Job Qualifications Education Baccalaureate Degree in Business or Health Care required. Masters Degree in Business or Health Administration preferred. Experience 5-7 years of related operational experience, with progressive levels of responsibility, required Certified HealthCare Facility Manager (CHFM), preferred License/Certifications none Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proven ability to effectively collaborate and facilitate chance across multiple organizations to achieve organizational objectives. Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $93.23 - $125.16 per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
