This strategic leadership role focuses on transforming emerging AI technologies into meaningful improvements in workflows, decision-making, organizational learning, and operational effectiveness. You will partner with teams across the organization to identify opportunities, redesign processes, establish governance principles, and build sustainable AI skills. Through hands-on consultation, training, and peer learning, you will empower staff to use AI confidently while preserving human expertise and creativity. The role combines organizational strategy, change management, technology enablement, and ethical leadership in a mission-driven environment. Initially focused on internal operations, the position is expected to expand its reach by sharing resources and best practices with affiliated campus organizations. ### Accountabilities: As the organization’s AI enablement leader, you will establish the strategic direction for AI adoption while helping teams implement practical solutions and build lasting capabilities. Your responsibilities will include: - Partner with organizational learning teams to maximize the value of existing data, research, evaluation, and performance measurement infrastructure. - Apply AI to connect information across student engagement, program outcomes, campus performance, development, and operations, identifying patterns that inform strategic decisions and improve outcomes. - Help teams formulate meaningful questions about organizational data and translate insights into actionable priorities for people, funding, and strategy. - Define the vision, governance, and strategic direction for AI adoption across the organization and its broader professional network. - Serve as an embedded consultant to teams, facilitating opportunity identification, workflow redesign, and the development of practical AI use cases and best practices. - Collaborate with designated AI enablement leads to transfer knowledge and build the internal capacity needed for teams to sustain and expand their own AI initiatives. - Develop peer-learning networks that allow successful approaches to be shared, refined, and adopted across departments and affiliated organizations. - Establish clear, practical guidelines for responsible AI use, addressing data privacy and quality, bias, accuracy, transparency, and environmental impact. - Engage constructively with staff concerns and skepticism, helping colleagues understand AI's limitations and ethical implications while positioning it as a tool to enhance human expertise and creativity. - Guide the selection and implementation of enterprise-grade AI platforms, secure access mechanisms, and supporting technology infrastructure. - Establish standards that protect data integrity and organizational quality while ensuring AI tools remain accessible, useful, and practical for staff. - Coordinate technology implementation, integration, and operational support in collaboration with relevant internal teams. - Develop and oversee an organization-wide enablement strategy combining training, embedded consultation, peer learning, and hands-on implementation support. - Integrate AI learning modules into existing professional development programs and equip staff to identify opportunities, solve problems, and apply AI to organizational priorities. - Incorporate honest discussions of AI's limitations, risks, and trade-offs into training to encourage informed, responsible adoption. - Initially prioritize internal organizational needs, with consultation and resource sharing across affiliated campus organizations anticipated during the second year. **Requirements:** The ideal candidate is an experienced builder and collaborator who understands modern AI tools, excels at helping others learn, and can establish a new organizational capability without relying on an existing playbook. A software engineering background is not required, but strong practical AI fluency and organizational leadership are essential. Required qualifications include: - Typically 8 or more years of professional experience in learning and development, change management, organizational development, digital transformation, or a closely related field. - Demonstrated hands-on experience with modern AI tools, including large language models and enterprise AI platforms, with a clear understanding of their capabilities and limitations. - Proven ability to drive technology adoption across an organization, helping people move from initial curiosity to confident, sustained use. - Experience translating complex technical concepts into accessible language, practical workflows, and actionable guidance for non-technical audiences. - Strong facilitation and adult-learning skills, including experience designing and delivering training or enablement programs. - A collaborative approach to setting priorities, building new capabilities, and moving fluidly between strategic planning and hands-on implementation. - Ability to discuss AI's ethical, cultural, and environmental implications credibly, including its risks and limitations, and to engage thoughtfully with colleagues' concerns. - A strong commitment to using AI to augment human creativity and expertise, supported by sound judgment about appropriate use cases and boundaries. - Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, including the ability to advise, influence, and collaborate with senior leadership. - Sound judgment regarding data integrity, privacy, and the responsible use of organizational information. Preferred qualifications include: - A strong interest in the organization's mission and the communities it serves. - Experience in nonprofit, mission-driven, higher-education, multi-site, or federated organizations. - Familiarity with AI and productivity tools such as Claude, Gemini, Google Workspace, Salesforce, and Slack AI. - Practical experience developing AI workflows, prompts, or connectors that incorporate organizational knowledge, context, and voice into AI-enabled tools. - Familiarity with AI ethics, responsible AI frameworks, and the environmental implications of large-scale AI adoption. - Data and analytics literacy sufficient to help teams formulate strategic questions and interpret insights from existing data. - Experience establishing a new program, function, or organizational capability in a growing or evolving environment. - Familiarity with Jewish communal life, campus communities, or the populations served by the organization. **Benefits:** - Annual salary range of **$115,000–$130,000 USD**. - Fully remote work for eligible candidates based in the United States. - Flexible working hours and location. - Preference for candidates able to work in a hybrid arrangement at the Washington, D.C. headquarters one to two days per week. - Comprehensive health insurance. - Retirement plan. - Life, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), and long-term disability insurance. - Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs). - Generous vacation and sick leave. - Parental leave. - Opportunity to shape a significant organizational AI strategy at an important moment for Jewish students and campus life. - The opportunity to build sustainable AI capabilities, influence organizational transformation, and help teams adopt emerging technologies responsibly.
