Director of Construction

Job description

The Director is responsible for a portfolio of projects, project teams, and client relationships. This role drives execution, financial performance, staffing, operational excellence, and leadership development. - Support general leadership of the assigned market - Lead data center campus teams - Provide hands on management support for individual projects - Manage overall budgets and corresponding subcontractor/vendor/consultant budgets - Manage overall schedules - Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors to ensure timely completion. - Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed. - Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with the contracted scope of work. - Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions. - Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution. - Maintain daily log (written) of activities on the jobsite. - May perform Field Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously. - Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team. - Walk all units on project daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning. - Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work. - Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors in regards to quality of work or scheduling. - Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner. - Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion. - Complete other such duties consistent with your role as you may be assigned by EverOn management. - Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards. ### Responsibilities - Oversee multiple projects simultaneously. - Review schedules, forecasts, and risk profiles. - Conduct portfolio health assessments. - Align resources across projects. - Review project forecasts monthly. - Manage contingency exposure. - Drive change order recovery. - Ensure profitability objectives are achieved. - Build executive-level relationships. - Resolve escalated client concerns. - Participate in strategic planning sessions. - Generate repeat business opportunities. - Develop PMs and Superintendents. - Identify future leaders. - Conduct quarterly talent reviews. - Create succession plans. - Standardize processes. - Implement lessons learned.
