Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly towards their next break — no quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. People say it looks like magic. It's changing lives and transforming an industry. We're backed by Tier 1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab's Peter Beck and Icehouse Ventures. ## **About the Role** South America is one of Halter's most important growth frontiers, and this role owns finance for the entire region. Based in Buenos Aires — where we're standing up our regional office — you'll be the single finance leader on the ground, accountable for everything from tax and local statutory audits to FP&A, revenue planning, and the finance strategy that supports Halter scaling in-market. Reporting to the VP of FP&A, you'll have real autonomy over how the region's finance function takes shape. This is a build role. The function doesn't exist yet; you'll stand it up. You'll set up the entity and controls, get the compliance backbone right, and then build the planning and partnering capability that lets the regional business make sharp decisions fast. You'll partner with the regional GM and leadership while plugging into the global finance team. If you want genuine ownership of a whole region's finances at a pivotal moment — and you'd rather build the function than inherit one — this is it. ## **What you'll own** - The complete South America finance function, from ledger to strategy. - Tax and statutory compliance across the region, including structuring, filings, transfer pricing, and staying ahead of Argentine and regional regulatory complexity. - Local audits and statutory reporting. - Local accounts receivable and supplier negotiation and onboarding. - Regional FP&A — planning, forecasting, and management reporting that gives leadership a clear read on where the business stands. - Revenue planning — partnering with sales leaders on the ground and our Revenue Operations team in New Zealand to produce robust sales plans that guide growth in the region. - Finance strategy and partnering — being the finance voice at the regional leadership table, and building the team as the region scales. - Treasury — cash management, FX and liquidity, keeping the region funded and resilient in a volatile currency environment. - Operational finance matters in the region, including HR and Property. ## **What you'll bring** Must-haves: - Senior finance leadership experience, ideally spanning both controllership/compliance and FP&A — you've owned the full stack, not just one slice. - Strong knowledge of Argentine and broader South American tax, statutory audit, and regulatory environments. - Strong financial modelling and planning capability — you can own the numbers and make them trusted. - Fluency in Spanish and English. - The seniority and presence to partner leadership, operate independently whilst you build a team and take ownership. - Comfort with ambiguity and a genuine builder's instinct — you're energised by standing something up, not maintaining it. Nice-to-haves: - Experience setting up finance functions or entities in a new market. - Exposure to a high-inflation / complex-currency environment. - SaaS or hardware-enabled SaaS background. - A track record of using AI to create leverage across finance. ## **How we'll know you're winning** - Compliance backbone is solid — tax, audits, and statutory reporting are clean, on time, and no longer a source of risk. - Leadership runs on your numbers — regional decisions are backed by planning and reporting they trust. - Revenue planning is sharp enough to guide where and how fast the region scales. - You've begun building the team and function that outlasts any one person. ## **Culture line** This role is Absolute Ownership in its purest form — you're the driver of finance for an entire region, no passenger seat. It rewards someone who works From First Principles to build the right function rather than the familiar one, and who can Embrace Discomfort operating at the edge of a fast-scaling market. ## **Our Benefits** - **Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP):** Own a part of Halter and share in our growth and success - **Unlimited PTO:** Take time off when you need it—no accrual required, available from day one - **Employee Assistance Program (EAP) & paid wellness leave:** Access confidential support through JustWorks plus 3 paid wellness days per year - **Comprehensive health benefits:** Medical, dental, and vision coverage starting the first day of the month after you join (with most premiums covered, including 100% of employee-only health premiums on select plans) - **Personal growth fund:** $750 USD per year to support learning, development, or personal growth goals - **Parental leave:** 16 weeks paid leave for birthing parents and 8 weeks paid leave for non-birthing parents - **401(k):** 100% match on the first 3% contributed, plus 50% match on the next 2% (up to a 4% employer match), with immediate vesting - **Onboarding travel to New Zealand:** Fly to NZ for onboarding at Halter HQ in Auckland—meet the team, visit a test farm, and immerse yourself in all things Halter ## **Our Office First Approach** Humans are wired for connection. Being office first is a core pillar of our culture because in-person connections drive your growth, learning, impact, and relationships. Strong relationships make it easier to disagree, give feedback, and do meaningful work together. We're office first, not office only. Working from the office is our default, but we flex when needed. We have a high-trust culture where everyone is trusted to do what's best for Halter. Our office vibe is special, the high energy and spectacular people make work enjoyable. Your growth and impact are unlimited here, coming from solving problems, innovating, and constantly learning from each other. # **Join our team** Halter is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace — a place where we can each be ourselves and do the best work of our lives. Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the requirements, women and under-represented groups of candidates tend to only apply when they meet every requirement.
