Director Product Management – Search & Product Discovery | B2B SaaS / MarTech (m/f/d)

Job description

Introduction TL;DR: Own FactFinder's product discovery platform end to end — strategy, roadmap, positioning, and adoption — and turn product improvements into measurable customer and commercial outcomes. A senior IC role in B2B SaaS with real commercial ownership, an AI-enabled product practice, and a direct line to the CPTO. Own the next chapter of a FactFinder product. Shape the strategy, roadmap and positioning of an established eCommerce search and product discovery platform—and turn product improvements into measurable customer and commercial outcomes. This role combines hands-on product work with broad responsibility: understanding where the product can win, deciding what matters most, and staying accountable for adoption after launch. About FactFinder FactFinder builds search and product discovery software for eCommerce: AI-powered search, navigation, merchandising, personalization and recommendations for B2B and B2C retailers. We are rebuilding our product and technology organization around AI-enabled product development and the opportunities of agentic commerce. Our Customer Success, Technical Consulting and Business Consulting teams are based in Germany and work closely with our customers. You will partner with them to understand customer workflows, validate problems and see how product decisions perform in practice. The opportunity You take ownership of an established product with paying customers, meaningful revenue and a substantial modernization agenda. Your mandate is to sharpen its positioning, improve the customer experience and drive growth while navigating a mature, highly configurable platform. The challenge is real: technical debt, competing priorities and high expectations for progress. Working directly with the CPTO and partnering with engineering and design, you will bring clarity to the choices ahead—what to improve, why it matters and what to defer. This is a senior individual contributor role with cross-functional influence and no direct reports. Your mission Product strategy and positioning. Define where the product wins, which customer problems deserve investment and the commercial case behind your priorities. Make trade-offs explicit and align stakeholders around them. The roadmap from discovery through adoption. Set clear outcomes and measurement plans, prioritize transparently, and balance customer value, commercial opportunity and technical constraints. Continuous discovery. Work with customers, prospects, Sales, Customer Success and Consulting to validate problems and concepts through interviews, usability testing and rapid prototypes before committing engineering capacity. AI-enabled product practice. Use AI in your own research, synthesis and prototyping to shorten learning cycles and improve decisions. You will have a tooling budget to support that work. Daily collaboration with engineering and design. Bring clarity on the "what" and "why," engage constructively in technical trade-offs and shape solutions together. Engineering owns the technical implementation. Launch, enablement and iteration. Work with customer-facing teams to help customers understand and adopt improvements. Use evidence from real usage to address friction and guide the next iteration. Your initial focus will be on the areas where modernization creates the most customer and commercial value—together with the CPTO and engineering, you will establish priorities, success measures and a practical modernization roadmap. Success means stronger activation and adoption, shorter time-to-value, and demonstrable contributions to retention, expansion and competitive positioning. Your profile Proven search and product discovery expertise gained at a technology vendor or within an eCommerce search team. You have owned relevant customer problems across search, navigation, merchandising or recommendations and can explain the decisions and outcomes. 6+ years in product management , with substantial end-to-end ownership and strong commercial judgment. You can connect product priorities to customer value, revenue opportunities, risk and opportunity cost. An understanding of complex business customer needs. B2B software, platform or SaaS experience is particularly relevant. Experience owning search within an eCommerce business is also relevant when you can demonstrate how your judgment transfers to a product serving multiple customers. Evidence of improving a mature, complex product. You can show how you balanced customer needs, technical constraints and modernization work while delivering meaningful progress. Strong discovery and hands-on prototyping skills. You know how to test assumptions, synthesize evidence and use AI to accelerate learning. Effective partnership with engineering and clear communication. You can discuss technical trade-offs, align stakeholders without formal authority and communicate decisions confidently in English at C1 level or above. A technical or consulting background is welcome. German is a plus. You will thrive here if you enjoy taking responsibility for outcomes, making difficult prioritization decisions and working through complexity with customers and colleagues. THE JOY OF WORKING WITH US Our process consists of five conversations: Recruiter introduction — 30 minutes by video to discuss your experience, motivation and practical expectations. CPTO interview — product strategy, commercial judgment and the scope of the role. Case interview — how you frame problems, evaluate evidence and make trade-offs. We will share the format and expected preparation time in advance. Team interview — collaboration with the people you would work alongside. Final leadership conversation — alignment on the role, company direction and mutual expectations. You can expect feedback within 48 hours after each stage. What product will I own? An established, AI-powered product discovery platform for eCommerce—search, navigation, merchandising, personalization and recommendations for B2B and B2C retailers. We will share full product details in the first conversation. Is this a leadership role? No—it is a senior individual contributor role with full end-to-end product ownership and cross-functional influence. No people management required. Where is the role located, and do I need to speak German? Hybrid in Berlin, Munich or Pforzheim, with 2–3 office days per week and flexibility for the right candidate. Business-fluent English (C1) is required; German is a plus, not a requirement. Who thrives in this role? Senior, Staff or Lead Product Managers with real search & discovery experience—from a vendor or a large eCommerce search team—who want to own an established product end to end and be measured on outcomes. Job Location The role can be based in Berlin, Munich or Pforzheim, with 2–3 office days per week. Alternative arrangements can be discussed for the right candidate. Benefits Broad product responsibility: strategy, roadmap, positioning and adoption, reporting directly to the CPTO. Close customer collaboration: access to experienced Customer Success and Consulting colleagues and opportunities to validate directly with customers. AI tooling budget: access to tools such as Claude Code, Cursor and prototyping software to support your work. Training and conference budget to develop your expertise. An attractive compensation package with fixed and performance-based components. A permanent contract, 30 days of vacation, modern equipment, mobility offers and a company pension plan.
