Job description

Terra AI is building a new category at the intersection of artificial intelligence, geoscience, and critical resource development. As global demand for copper, lithium, nickel, rare earth elements, geothermal energy, and other strategic resources accelerates, the mining and subsurface industries face a growing challenge: traditional exploration methods remain slow, expensive, and highly uncertain. Terra AI was founded to help solve this problem by redefining how critical resources are discovered, evaluated, and developed. By combining advanced machine learning, probabilistic modeling, and deep geoscience expertise, Terra AI helps exploration and mining companies make faster, more informed subsurface decisions with greater confidence and capital efficiency. The company’s platform integrates geological, geophysical, and drilling data into intelligent systems designed to improve targeting accuracy, accelerate discovery timelines, and reduce exploration risk. Backed by Khosla Ventures, BHP, and Rio Tinto, Terra AI works with industry leaders to bring a more informed, data-driven approach to critical resource development. Terra AI’s mission is to define the new global standard for data-driven critical resource development — breaking the cost and time curve required to support electrification, energy security, and the global energy transition. The company operates with a strong partnership mentality, combining technical rigor, candid communication, continual learning, and environmental stewardship to help modern exploration teams solve some of the world’s most important resource challenges. **Terra AI | General Interest Application** ### Great people don't always fit neatly into a job description. At Terra AI, we're building something ambitious: using artificial intelligence and geoscience to transform how we understand the Earth's subsurface and discover the resources that power our world. We're bringing together people with different backgrounds, experiences, and ways of thinking to tackle challenges that have traditionally been difficult, expensive, and uncertain. And while we may not have the perfect opening for you today, that doesn't mean we shouldn't get to know each other. ### Who we'd love to hear from We're always interested in connecting with curious, talented people who are excited about solving meaningful problems. Our work brings together expertise across: - **Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning** — Developing novel models and applying AI to complex physical systems. - **Software Engineering & Product** — Building the technology, platforms, and experiences that bring our work to life. - **Geoscience & Earth Sciences** — Combining scientific expertise with new approaches to understanding the subsurface. - **Project Management & Operations** — Turning ambitious ideas into successful, real-world execution. - **Commercial, Strategy & Investments** — Building partnerships, developing opportunities, and helping translate technological innovation into lasting value. - **Business Operations & Corporate Functions** — Creating the infrastructure that allows a growing company to do extraordinary work. Don't see your background represented? That's perfectly fine. Some of the most interesting contributions come from people whose experiences don't fit neatly into a predefined category. ### What makes someone a great fit at Terra AI? We value people who are intellectually curious, collaborative, comfortable challenging assumptions, and willing to roll up their sleeves. We're building a company where good ideas matter, thoughtful debate is encouraged, and people have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. You don't need to check every box or have worked in our industry before. We care about what you've accomplished, how you approach problems, and what you're excited to build next. ### Let's stay connected. If Terra AI sounds like a place where you'd enjoy doing your best work, we'd love to hear from you. Tell us a little about yourself, what interests you about Terra, and where you think you could make an impact. **A quick note:** This is a general interest application, not an active opening for a specific position. While we may not be able to connect with everyone individually, we'll keep your information on file for consideration as relevant opportunities emerge. Thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself. We appreciate your interest in being part of what we're building. ### Equal Employment Opportunity Terra AI is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other status protected by applicable law. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to an inclusive, respectful workplace.
