**About Avive:**
Avive Solutions, Inc. ([](https://avive.life/)) is a growth stage Automated External Defibrillator (AED) company with a connected response system that is rapidly gaining market share. We are a mission driven team that is quite literally saving lives. Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) is a leading cause of death in the United States, and we are on a mission to change that! We are a dynamic organization that builds elegant, creative solutions to solve complex problems. Ultimately, our mission is for all cardiac arrest victims to have rapid access to life-saving defibrillation.
Avive is taking a fresh approach to addressing this decades-old problem by innovating AED technology, coupled with a first-of-its-kind software platform solution to enable a quicker and more streamlined response to SCA emergencies. We believe that this unique combination of deploying advanced – yet still accessible – hardware, and software, has the potential to revolutionize out-of-hospital cardiac arrest response and massively impact SCA survival rates.

**Summary/Objective:**
We are looking for an Electrical Systems Engineer to join our R&D team and own system-level electrical development, taking projects from concept to validated, shippable hardware. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role where you’ll solve challenging technical integration problems and drive benchtop prototyping, debugging, and test execution for both new and existing products. As a fast-paced company with a small team, at Avive you'll quickly gain exposure to every stage of the product development cycle and have the opportunity to directly see the life-saving impact of your work in the field
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
● Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, test, and quality engineers to develop, test, and launch features for life-saving products and accessories.
● Investigate feasibility of product changes, explore new and alternate peripheral components, and work closely with both electrical and firmware team members to integrate these modules into the existing design.
● Support benchtop programming and bring-up of new PCBAs. Validate electronics for production readiness.
● Analyze firmware-hardware interactions to identify failure mechanisms, determine trade-offs, and recommend design improvements.
● Support ongoing manufacturing of products through BOM improvements, alternate component selection and qualification, and debug of failed devices from the manufacturing line.
● Support products in the field through cross-functional debugging spanning electrical failure analysis, system log reviews, and collaboration with the quality, manufacturing, and customer success teams.
● Debug circuit behavior across a wide range of electronic modules (MCUs, switching power supplies, high voltage, ECG, audio, cellular, Wi-Fi, and more).
● Instrument, operate, and interpret data from oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment to characterize system behaviors.
● Design and execute test suites, analyze data, present data-driven conclusions, and document results through technical reports.
**Required Education and Experience**
● B.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering
● 3+ years of experience shipping hardware to the field
● Strong technical foundation in circuit theory and analysis.
● Hands-on experience designing, testing, and analyzing mixed-signal circuitry.
● Familiarity with embedded firmware
**Preferred Experience and Qualifications**
● Experience with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer)
● Experience with scripting programming tools (e.g., Python)
● Experience working on medical or health devices (e.g., in an FDA or ISO regulated environment)
