Starting with hands-on development, you will architect and deliver production features while establishing engineering standards and best practices. You will also recruit, mentor, and lead a team expected to grow from 3–5 engineers to 15–25 within a year. Working closely with US-based Product and Engineering teams, you will own a product area end to end, from architecture through production support. This fully remote, long-term opportunity is ideal for a technical leader who combines strong software engineering expertise, team-building experience, and a passion for AI-driven innovation. ### Accountabilities - Design, develop, and ship production-ready software features from day one, contributing directly to the codebase while guiding technical direction. - Take end-to-end ownership of a product area, overseeing architecture, implementation, deployment, and ongoing production support. - Build and scale the engineering team, including recruiting, mentoring, developing engineers, and establishing effective team processes and working practices. - Lead technical execution across a growing team, ensuring projects are appropriately scoped, delivery is predictable, and engineering priorities remain aligned with business objectives. - Collaborate closely with US-based Product and Engineering stakeholders to define solutions, coordinate development, and deliver meaningful product improvements. - Establish and maintain high standards for software quality, reliability, scalability, and security within a HIPAA-regulated healthcare environment. - Leverage AI-assisted development tools and workflows to accelerate software delivery while maintaining strong engineering standards. - Contribute to the development of innovative healthcare technology, potentially across payer portal automation, payer policy tooling, Voice AI, and related product areas. ## Requirements - 10+ years of experience building SaaS products, with strong full-stack software engineering expertise. - Demonstrated engineering leadership experience as an Engineering Manager, Director, or in a comparable role, ideally including building and scaling a team from the ground up. - A hands-on leadership approach, with the ability and willingness to continue writing code while guiding technical strategy and team development. - Strong technical proficiency in Python, React, TypeScript, AWS, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake. - Fluent English communication skills and substantial experience collaborating with US-based teams across product development and engineering delivery. - Strong ownership mindset, sound technical judgment, and the ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver reliably in a fast-paced environment. - Experience working with AI-assisted software development tools and modern engineering workflows is valuable. - Healthtech or revenue cycle management (RCM) experience is strongly preferred. - Familiarity with payer integrations, robotic process automation (RPA), large language models (LLMs), FastAPI, or LangChain is an advantage. - The ability to balance technical execution, people leadership, security requirements, and product outcomes as the engineering organization grows. ## Benefits - Founding leadership opportunity: Play a central role in establishing and scaling a new engineering team. - Meaningful ownership: Take responsibility for a product area from architecture through production, with the opportunity to influence technical direction and delivery. - Career growth: Help grow an engineering team from an initial 3–5 members toward a planned 15–25 engineers within a year. - Fully remote work: Work remotely from Latin America, including Brazil, Uruguay, and other eligible LATAM locations, with overlap during US Eastern Time working hours. - Company-provided equipment: Receive a MacBook for your work. - Long-term engagement: Join on a full-time, long-term contract dedicated to one client and integrated into its engineering team. - AI-native environment: Work with modern AI-assisted development tools and help shape engineering practices in a rapidly evolving healthcare technology setting.
