Engineering Manager

Job description

## **About Aspora** ## People on the move deserve a bank that moves with them. Since 2022, Aspora has been building a borderless financial operating system that makes money as mobile and transparent as its users. Backed by influential venture capitalists like Sequoia Capital, Greylock Partners, Hummingbird Ventures, Y Combinator & Global Founders Capital. We're a team of 150+ across India, the UK, the UAE, EU and the US, working with extreme ownership, radical candour, and an obsession with customer impact. We celebrate builders who question assumptions, ship fast, and turn regulatory complexity into elegant solutions. If you’re driven to redefine what global banking can be, we’d love to build the future with you. # **What You Will Do** 1. **Team & Technical Leadership** - Lead, mentor, and support engineers while setting clear technical direction for the pod. - Build a high-ownership, growth-oriented culture through effective feedback, coaching, and collaboration. - Contribute to key architectural discussions, technical decisions, and hands-on problem-solving with senior engineers. 2. **Cross-Functional Collaboration** - Work closely with Product to challenge requirements, drive clarity, and ensure alignment on priorities. - Partner with Support & Operations to understand customer issues and operational realities, feeding these insights into planning and improvements. - Communicate progress, risks, and decisions transparently with stakeholders and leadership. 3. **Execution, Delivery & Ownership** - Drive end-to-end execution by planning, prioritising, and tracking engineering work. - Maintain strong development velocity by removing blockers and enabling smooth workflows. - Uphold high engineering standards and ensure the pod builds reliable, well-tested, and operationally sound systems. - Own pod-level metrics (e.g., latency, success rates, efficiency) and use data-driven insights to continuously refine execution and delivery. # **Who You Are** - 6–9 years of experience in software engineering. - Proven track record of transitioning from individual contributor to people manager. - Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments. - Combines hands-on technical expertise with effective team leadership and mentorship. - You excel at making decisions that serve business goals while nurturing the development of your people. - We are language-agnostic and value strong engineering fundamentals over specific tech stacks. # **Why Aspora?** - Lead some of the most critical pods with direct impact on customer trust and business growth. - Blend hands-on engineering with leadership—ideal for someone who enjoys both building and shaping teams. - High ownership, autonomy, and the opportunity to define engineering culture from the ground up. - Work in a fast-paced environment with sharp cross-functional partners and supportive leadership. # **Perks and Benefits** - **Competitive compensation and equity**, aligned with experience, impact and market standards. - **Learning & development support**, including professional development budgets and learning stipends. - **Wellness and team engagement programs** to support work-life integration and collaboration.
