Enterprise Sales Director - APAC (HK)

Job description

## **About us** Velocity is revolutionising the global financial landscape by unifying fiat and digital assets through regulated stablecoin technology. We are tackling some of the most significant inefficiencies in global payments, from the limitations of SWIFT to the cost and delays of cross-border transactions. Founded by Eric Queathem, with decades of experience scaling and leading payments businesses, Velocity combines deep expertise in regulated financial systems with a fast-growing team across London, Warsaw, New York and Melbourne. Our platform enables businesses to manage payments, treasury functions, and liquidity in real time, operating 24/7/365. We remove friction in global payouts, cross-border settlements, and treasury operations, seamlessly integrating stablecoin-powered speed with the reliability of traditional finance. Backed by robust partnerships, including strategic collaborations with Fireblocks and other leading technology providers, we are building trusted infrastructure for scalable global growth. We recently announced a $48m Series A led by Dragonfly and FirstMark, with participation from QED, Capital One Ventures, Ripple, Coinbase Ventures, Visa, Circle and Translink Capital. ## **The role** This is a senior, quota-carrying role owning Velocity's largest and most complex opportunities across Asia Pacific, and one of our early commercial hires in the region. Based in Singapore, you will focus on Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan, with wider coverage across South East Asia and Australia. You will sell regulated stablecoin payment infrastructure into financial institutions, large PSPs and acquirers, global marketplaces, and scaled fintechs. Deals are multi-threaded, multi-quarter, and involve treasury, payments, product, risk, and compliance stakeholders on the other side of the table. Beyond your own number, you will help set how we sell here: sharpening positioning and pricing for the APAC market, and acting as a senior commercial face for Velocity. ## **Key responsibilities** - Own a revenue quota against a portfolio of strategic and enterprise accounts, and be accountable for pipeline generation, progression, and closed business. - Source and build your own pipeline through outbound, network, events, and inbound follow-up, with the seniority to open doors at CFO, Treasurer, and Head of Payments level. - Run complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles end to end: discovery, solution design, commercial and legal negotiation, and close, typically spanning several quarters and multiple decision-makers. - Structure and negotiate commercially significant agreements, including pricing, liquidity, and settlement terms, in partnership with Finance and Legal. - Help shape the go-to-market: refine segmentation, messaging, and pricing based on what you learn in market. - Build and work through partners and channels, including consultancies, schemes, banking partners and local PSPs, where they accelerate access to end customers. - Work closely with Product and Engineering to translate enterprise requirements into feasible solutions, and carry the weight to influence roadmap prioritisation. - Partner with Compliance and Legal to navigate onboarding, jurisdictional requirements, and contracting in a regulated environment. - Represent Velocity at senior level at industry conferences and events across the region. ## **What we are looking for** - 6-10+ years' experience in enterprise sales, business development, or partnerships, the majority of it in a quota-carrying closing role. - Deep payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure experience, with a sophisticated understanding of how money moves cross-border and where cost, float, and friction sit. - Experience selling into financial institutions or payments companies in Asia, with a working understanding of how deals get done in Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan. - A demonstrable track record of consistently hitting or exceeding quota on complex enterprise deals, and the numbers to back it up. - Experience closing large, multi-stakeholder deals with financial institutions, PSPs, acquirers, marketplaces, or scaled fintechs, including navigating procurement, risk, and compliance review. - Genuine hunting ability: comfortable building pipeline from a standing start rather than working an existing book. - A strong, established network across the APAC payments or fintech ecosystem that you can activate from day one. - Experience selling technical or API-based products to business and institutional buyers, with the credibility to hold a conversation with both a treasurer and an engineer. - Experience operating in a regulated environment, and the judgement to sell honestly within it. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the commercial judgement to know which deals are worth chasing and which are not. Mandarin or other regional languages are a bonus. - Comfortable working across time zones with a team concentrated in Melbourne, London and Warsaw, including regular evening calls with European colleagues, and self-directed enough to operate without a large local office around you. - Exposure to stablecoins or digital assets is an advantage, but deep payments experience matters more than prior crypto experience. - Must have the right to work in Singapore. ## **Nice to have** Deep experience in one or more of the verticals we sell into: - Cross-border and remittance: money transfer operators and remittance providers, correspondent banking relationships, and the cost of holding pre-funded balances across corridors. - Acquiring and PSPs: merchant acquirers, payment facilitators, and payment service providers, and where scheme settlement timing, prefunding, and merchant payout cycles tie up working capital. - Banks and EMIs: treasury, liquidity, and nostro management inside a regulated balance sheet. - Issuing: issuer-processors, BIN sponsors, and card programme managers, and the funding and settlement mechanics that sit behind a card programme. - Regulatory fluency: familiarity with MAS, HKMA or JFSA payments and digital asset regimes. ## **Why join?** 1. Work on a groundbreaking, forward-thinking solution: Be part of a team leveraging cutting-edge technologies to transform the global financial landscape. 2. Mission-driven environment with purpose: At Velocity, we prioritise security and user empowerment, ensuring our solutions are built with integrity and designed to make a difference. 3. Be one of the first hires in the region: Join early and shape how Velocity goes to market across Asia Pacific. 4. Backed by top-tier venture capital: Velocity is supported by premier investors, providing the resources and backing necessary to scale rapidly and execute on our ambitious vision. 5. Learn from industry leaders: The founding team consists of seasoned operators with a proven track record in the industry, providing invaluable mentorship and guidance as we grow. 6. Be part of a company with long-term vision: With a strong regulatory-first approach and a focus on sustainable, scalable growth, Velocity is poised for long-term success. 7. Shape the future of global finance: Join an innovative team working on a revolutionary solution that is changing the long-term trajectory of financial operations. ## **Compensation & benefits** - Competitive remuneration: a competitive base salary plus a performance-based commission structure. We recognise and reward outperformance. - Shared ownership: Everyone owns a share of the company. One of our values is to act like an owner, and we back that up with real ownership in the business. - Offices: We're a dispersed team but one that likes spending time together. We have offices in London, New York, Melbourne and Warsaw and we aim to work together in person as much as possible. We also believe in working with the best talent wherever it is in the world. - Equipment: It is important to have the best tools for the job. We will provide you with a MacBook and will update them regularly. We use all the best modern tools, and if you find an even more efficient way of doing something, we'll adopt it.
